Authentic DAY ONE: Arrival in

• Arrive in Avignon, known as the “Gateway of Provence” via high speed train from Paris, where you will be met at the train station and taken to a luxury hotel in the heart of the city to drop your bags. • Rich in history and culture, places to visit in Avignon include: ❖ Palais des Papes (Papal Palace) ❖ Pont Saint Bénézet (the Avignon Bridge) ❖ A walk in the Rocher des Doms • Discover numerous churches, cathedrals and art galleries as you lose yourself in the Medieval streets; often the buildings housing the exhibits are as attractive as the works displayed within. • Pop into the Musée du Petit Palais to view one of the most revered collection of in the world. Visit the Musée Angladon for ancient archaeological findings. • Take a stroll along the charming rue des Teinturiers, one of the prettiest, most historic spots in the walled city of Avignon - and also one of the most fashionable. • Enjoy dinner in the Place de l’Horloge, the lovely town square. DAY TWO: Lubéron Part 1

• Your driver will pick you from your hotel in Avignon and begin your journey through the heart of the Lubéron, an area of exquisite beauty, with perched villages, lavender fields and wineries at every turn. • This is also a wonderful area for hiking, biking and perhaps a little antique shopping. • Lunch in the breathtakingly authentic village of Goult. • After a wander around the village, drive on and check in to your luxury “Maison d’ d’Hôte.” (hotel) near Gordes, officially named one of ’s most beautiful villages. • The village has a colorful history, having survived the plague, earthquakes and bombings. Its spectacular views and lighting attracted artists in the ‘50s and ‘60s, giving Gordes an artsy reputation which still exists today. Authentic Provence DAY THREE: Lubéron Part 2

• Your driver will pick you up and take you to discover a few of the villages that dot the base of the Lubéron mountain: • Ménèrbes, whose Medieval streets are awash with a rugged beauty that’s accentuated by the landscape that surrounds it. • Lacoste, which still looks much the same as it would have done when the scandalous Marquis de Sade lived here in the 18th century. • Bonnieux. From the ivy- covered façades to the way the houses cascade down the hillside, it’s a village straight from a fairytale. • Roussillion offers incredible views over the Lubéron valley. Be sure to walk up through the Belfry to the fortified area of the village. • Take luxury lavender farm tour along your way. • Return to Gordes. Authentic Provence

DAY FOUR: Aix en Provence & Cassis

• Your driver will pick you up after breakfast for the 90-minute drive over the mountain of Lubéron to Aix en Provence. • Enjoy lunch in Aix, a real delight for foodies. • Spend the afternoon shopping and exploring the cobbled streets of Old Town, discovering a few of the 1,000 fountains dotted around town before heading to your next destination, Cassis. • This pretty little portside town is the perfect place to indulge in the region’s finest pastimes: Feast on the fruits of the sea, sip on the celebrated Cassis wines and watch the world go by from one of the pretty harbor-side cafes. DAY FIVE: Calanques & Bandol Winery

• After breakfast meet your boat skipper down at the harbor. • Morning boat ride to the Calanques and picnic either on board or on the beach. These stunning, steep walled inlets are accessible by boat or hike and are well worth the effort. • Mid-afternoon return to Cassis. • Late afternoon visit to winery in Bandol, 30 minutes away and a must if you favor rose wines. DAY SIX: Cassis & Travel Home

• Lazy morning in Cassis, watching the comings and goings of the fishing harbor and exploring the quiet, winding streets. • Your driver will take you to the Aubagne train station (20 minutes away) for you to catch the TGV train back to Paris. Authentic Provence

ALTERNATIVE DAY SIX: Iles de Porquerolles

• Your driver will take you to the ferry bound for the Iles de Porquerolles. The turquoise water, breathtaking views, and charming town will have you wanting more. • Rent a bike to explore, swim, snorkel, or hike and take in the serenity of the island with no automobiles. • Overnight on the island. • Morning ferry and car ride to Hyères to catch the TGV train back to Paris.
