Summer Semester in With College of the Canyons June 30-July 31, 2018

Earn 6-8 credits by taking courses in French Language, Culture and Conversation

As Lou Reed sang imperatively: Take a walk on the wild side! Spend an entire month discovering one of the world’s great capitals. You’ll live in a dorm at the Cité Internationale of the University of Paris in a cool neighborhood right across from the famous Parc Montsouris. You’ll take a language class at the Sorbonne--the second-oldest university in the world-- and another (conversation and an introduction to Paris) on the streets with a professor who happens to call Paris home. The entire city—and other parts of —will be your classroom. You will have a bus and subway pass, but you’ll be able to walk to world-famous sites such as Notre-Dame Cathedral, (everyone’s favorite Parisian neighborhood),the Museum, Berthillon (the best ice cream in France), and dozens of hip cafés, restaurants and discos. You’ll have enough time to meet people, practice your French, find your favorite café, bakery, outdoor market, park, museum, clothes boutique, department store, bookstore, movie theatre, chocolate shop, church, metro line, etc. and frequent them repeatedly. You’ll also have a couple of optional day trips outside the city: Chartres Cathedral, the , Monet’s house and gardens in Giverny, and a three day-trip to Normandy and Brittany with two overnights in the fabulous town of Saint-Malo. What’s more, your evenings and four three- day weekends will be yours to use as you wish. And if that’s not enough, you will be in Paris for the spectacular 14th of July celebration (Bastille Day in English.) as well as for the start and finish of the Tour de France bicycle race. And for you soccer fans, we will be in France for the last half of the World Cup. It will take place in Russia but that won’t diminish the excitement that comes from watching the games in the cafés of soccer- mad France. Allez les Bleus! Please consult other attachment for details.
