Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca Monterey, California October 15, 2005

QUALIFYING: 2rd GT1: Johnny O’Connell, #3 Compuware Corvette C6.R, Pratt & Miller and Corvette Racing finished the 2005 season on 1m20.719s (99.813 mph) top of the world, beating top notch competitors from Aston Martin, 3rd GT1: Olivier Beretta, Saleen, and Maserati at Laguna Seca to record its 45th victory and #4 Compuware Corvette C6.R, 31st 1-2 finish. Despite their intention to run a conservative race in 1m21.123s (99.316 mph) order to lock up the drivers championship, Oliver Gavin and Olivier Beretta managed to win it all after a final pit stop miscue cost the RACE: class leading #3 Corvette some crucial time. The ALMS drivers title 1st GT1 (7th overall): was Beretta’s first and Gavin’s third, and the Laguna Seca win was #4 Compuware Corvette C6.R, 158 laps Beretta’s 24th in ALMS competition. Demonstrating just how talented Oliver Gavin, Olivier Beretta Corvette Racing’s driver lineup is, that stat put Beretta in the elite 2nd GT1 (8th overall): company of Ron Fellows and Johnny O’Connell as co-holders of the #3 Compuware Corvette C6.R, record for most victories in ALMS competition. And to put the final 157 laps exclamation point on this fantastic weekend, the #3 car crew won top Ron Fellows, Johnny O’Connell honors in the Klein Tools Pit Stop Challenge, making it a clean sweep of every available championship for the Pratt & Miller team.
