You must apply for a school place even if you have an older child already attending the school of your choice. How do I apply? If your child attends a primary school in the London Borough of Hillingdon, you will have received an application form with this booklet. If your child does not attend a primary school in the borough, you will need to contact the Admissions Team on 01895 277205 to obtain a form. On this form you are invited to state 4 Hillingdon schools that you are interested in sending your child to. (N.B. Haydon School and Northwood School must NOT be named on the form and an individual form for each of these schools can be obtained at their open evenings) Yo u must put the schools (excluding Haydon and Northwood) in the order that you would most wish your child to attend. The order of your preferences is confidential and will not be released to any school. Each school you state as a preference will be treated equally (i.e. each secondary school will consider themselves as a first preference). The form must be returned to your child’s primary school, or to the Admissions Team if your child attends a school outside the borough, by noon on 7 November 2003. • Haydon School and Northwood School must not be stated as a preference on the application form. Individual application forms for these schools must be obtained directly from the schools.

• Ensure that any additional information required by the schools is sent directly to them (e.g. birth certificates). Failure to provide the additional information for Faith schools will make the application for these schools invalid.

• Return the completed form to your child’s primary school (if your child attends a primary school in Hillingdon) to be received by noon on 7 November 2003.

• Return the application form to the Admissions Team (if your child attends a primary school outside Hillingdon) at the Civic Centre to be received by noon on 7 November 2003.

• Parents will receive a letter by 1 March 2004 giving the result of the application.

• If a place cannot be offered at any of your preferred schools then a place will be offered at the nearest school in Hillingdon to your home address with a vacancy (if you live in Hillingdon).

• Acceptances should be sent to the secondary school you have been offered by 15 March 2004.

• Appeals must be received by 19 March 2004 by the secondary school concerned. Appeals received after this date will be allowed at the school’s discretion and may only be allowed under exceptional circumstances. You must speak to the schools concerned for more information.

• Your child’s name will be held on the waiting lists for any school that is a higher preference than the one offered. Acceptance of a place offered will have no bearing on any waiting lists.
