At Ashlyns it was Christians against poverty 15 encouraging to see so many people come together from the community, picnic Hospice News 16 blankets in tow, just relaxing, chatting and enjoying being part of such a lovely town. Parish news 18 On the subject of celebrations, the Berkhamsted Games 2012 take place this Summer garden 20 month on 5th July, not forgetting of course the 2012 Olympics, and our own magazine Memories of a lifetime in is 140 years old! So, more reasons to keep Berkhamsted 23 that union jack bunting flying and carry on regardless of the great British weather.     ADMISSION ARRANGEMENTS FOR COMMUNITY AND VOLUNTARY CONTROLLED SCHOOLS FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2019/20 Page 2 Admission Arrangements for Community and Voluntary Controlled First, Infant, Junior and Primary Schools Page 7 Admission Arrangements for Community and Voluntary Controlled Middle and High Schools Page 13 Community and Voluntary Controlled School Published Admission Numbers COORDINATED ADMISSION SCHEME FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2019/20 Page 17 Co-ordinated Scheme for Admission to all Primary and Secondary Schools Admission Arrangements for Community and Voluntary Controlled First, Infant, Junior and Primary Schools Normal Age of Entry: Academic Year 2019/2020 First, Infant, Junior and Primary Schools Full time places in reception classes will be available in September of the academic year within which the child becomes five years old. Although parents have the right to express a preference for the school that they wish their child to attend, there is no guarantee of a place being offered at their preferred school. It is the County Council’s policy to try and meet parents’ wishes where possible, however in some cases there may be more applications for a particular school than there are places available. Admission to oversubscribed community and voluntary controlled schools are determined by the oversubscription criteria detailed below. Oversubscription Criteria If the total number of preferences for admission to a school exceeds the school’s Published Admission Number (PAN), the following order of priority is used to allocate the available places. (N.B., after applying the oversubscription criteria, where an applicant can be offered a place at more than one preferred school then they will be offered a place at the school ranked highest on their application.) 1) Children in Care and children who ceased to be in care because they were adopted (or became subject to a residence order or special guardianship order).

They agreed that some young people were taking drugs and that drugs were easily accessible locally, online and in schools. There was concern about the misuse of nitrous 1 oxide (NO2) and the effect it had on the community and environment. Nitrous oxide gas canisters are easily purchased online and although illegal for under 18s to purchase, no proof of age checks are required for online shopping. The drugs project included a pupil survey, drug awareness poster campaign and a clean-up day. 1 3 Nitrous oxide is also referred to as NO2, balloons, laughing gas and as a ‘legal high’. 3 Background To set the scene, the threat posed by the misuse of psychoactive substances2 has forced the government to launch a ban on these substances under the Psychoactive Substances Act 2016.
