OCTOBER ~ MONTH OF THE ROSARY

THE ROSARY IS CLOSELY LINKED WITH OCTOBER. WE SHOULD ALL BE SAYING THE ROSARY DAILY. THIS HAS BEEN TAUGHT US BY OUR LADY OF FATIMA, WHO REPEATED THAT DIRECTIVE TO US IN EACH OF HER SIX APPARITIONS IN 1917. THE MOST IMPORTANT ELEMENT IN SAYING THE ROSARY IS NEITHER THE PRAYERS THEMSELVES NOR THE FINGERING OF THE BEADS. THOSE ARE IMPORTANT BUT NOT AS IMPORTANT AS MEDITATING ON THE MYS- TERIES AS YOU SAY THE PRAYERS. IT IS GOOD TO HAVE A MENTAL IMAGE OF THE SCENE IN THE LIFE OF OUR LADY AND OF HER DIVINE SON. THIS CAN BE HELPED BY A MEDITATION BOOK. ST. STANISLAUS HAS BEEN BLESSED BY A GIFT OF ROSARY MEDITATION BOOKS, ONE FOR EACH FAMILY. HOPEFULLY, YOU RECEIVED A COPY IN THE VESTIBULE AFTER MASS TWO WEEKS AGO. THE DONOR DOES NOT WISH TO BE KNOWN, BUT IT WOULD BE A GOOD INTENTION FOR YOUR FIRST ROSARY USING YOUR NEW BOOK.
