Paradores De Turismo Discovering the province of Teruel Thursday, 31 December, 2015 Paradores Parador de Teruel The province of Teruel hides inside its territory a number of important historic villages and beautiful picturesque and unique landscapes. From Paradores we want to introduce you to some of the most charming villages you can visit while staying at Parador de Teruel. Our Parador de Teruel, located in the outsides of the “city of lovers”, is a mudéjar style building with beautiful huge gardens to walk around. The decoration and installations of this hotel will be perfect for you to enjoy your time at this romantic and magical city. Albarracín In the south of the province of Teruel we find Albarracín, one village that so many people would classify as one of the most charming ones in Spain. The village was actually named National Monument in 1961 because of its beauty, location and historic heritage. Albarracín is a medieval village full of charm, protected by a spectacular XIV century fortress that has been restored and from where you can enjoy amazing views of the city. The streets made of stones and cute houses of Albarracín design a unique landscape. Do not miss the Cathedral of el Salvador from the XVI century as well as the castle of Albarracín, placed in the historic centre of the village that was occupied until the XVI century. It keeps staring at the village from top of the hill and has been restored so that people can visit it en delight in its beauty. You can get to Albarracín by A1512 road from Teruel. It is just around 35 kilometres far from our Parador de Teruel. Cella Cella is a village located really close to Albarracín and the city of Teruel. It used to be a really emblematic spot in Spain for Romans, and later on it was for the Arabs. It is a beautiful spot surrounded by an arid landscape that enhances the charm of the village. The most characteristic monument of Cella is its well “Fuente de Cella” from the XII century. It is considered one of the deepest and biggest ones of Spain. Visiting Cella means visiting its aqueduct too. It is a Roman construction that brings the water from the Guadalaviar River to the village of Cella. The church, which started to be built back in the XV century is also one of the must visits when going to Cella. Take the N234 road from Parador de Teruel to Cella and you will get there in less than 20 kilometres. Fast and easy! Rubielos de Mora Immersed in a rural environment and around 60 kilometres far from our Parador de Teruel, we will find the village known as Rubielos de Mora. It is a tiny mountainous village that will amaze you step by step. The best part of Rubielos de Mora is its location. It is surrounded by the beauty of nature, mountains and rivers. The village of Rubielos de Mora was declared a Historic-Artistic Site because of the importance of its heritage. The Church of Santa María de la Mayor, The Chapel of Santa Ana as well as the Renaissance styled building from the XVI known as Casa Consistorial are some of the architectonic treasures of this village. ABSTRACT The paper describes and classifies the major hydrological problems affect- ing coal mining in Spain. Water problems of both surface and underground mines are described. For reasons of brevity the description of the remed- ial measures used to overcome these difficulties is deliberately excluded. GEOLOGICAL ENVIRONMENT The report on Spanish coal deposits, published by the Centre for Energy Studies (1979), identifies a total of 59 coalfields (figure 1) distributed in twelve zones, to which new coalfields discovered in recent years must be added. Some 200 companies are involved in mining activities in these coalfields. In Spain, the bituminous cqal and anthracite deposits are Carboniferous in age. They are mostly situated in the provinces of Austrias, Leon, Palencia Ciudad Real and Cordoba. The pre-Stephanian paralic deposits are well developed in Asturias where they have been severely deformed by the varis- can folding developed there during the Westphalian time. On the contrary, in Southern Spain, pre-Stephanian deposits have limnic characteristics and are not so strongly deformed; they postdate main variscan folding which occurred earlier than in Asturias. The uppermost Carboniferous (Stephan- ian) coal deposits are everywhere limnic and their tectonic structure is gentle, except in some places where they have undergone intense alpine deformations. The lignite deposits, in which are included the black and brown lignites, and the peats, with ages ranging up to Cretaceous, Paleogene and Neogene, are located in Galicia, Aragon, Catalonia, the Balearic Islands and Andalusia.

    Vidal-González Pastoralism: Research, Policy and Practice 2013, 3:24 http://www.pastoralismjournal.com/content/3/1/24 RESEARCH Open Access Sacred rituals and popular religiousness amongst transhumant shepherds of Teruel region, Spain Pablo Vidal-González Abstract Seasonal migration of livestock, ascending and descending movements of livestock to escape from the rigours of winter, meant that shepherds from the region of Teruel in Spain used to spend more than six months away from their homes. This article analyses the profound popular cultures which have been passed down from generation to generation amongst these shepherds, a true cultural group, as well as the cosmovision and popular religiousness specific to this group, which have disappeared. We also analyse the strategies used in order to face danger and risks in a liminal job, on the limits of the unknown.
