ONSAGER THE LEMONWEIR VALLEY PRESS Berrien Springs, Michigan and Mauston, Wisconsin 2013 ANASON FAMILY INTRODUCTION The Anason family has its roots in Rogaland County, in western Norway. Western Norway is the area which had the greatest emigration to the United States. The County of Rogaland, formerly named Stavanger, lies at Norway’s southwestern tip, with the North Sea washing its fjords, beaches and islands. The name Rogaland means “the land of the Ryger,” an old Germanic tribe. The Ryger tribe is believed to have settled there 2,000 years ago. The meaning of the tribal name is uncertain. Rogaland was called Rygiafylke in the Viking age. The earliest known members of the Anason family came from a region of Rogaland that has since become part of Vest-Agder County.

Status som statlig reguleringsplan, innebærer at ingen statsetater kan reise innsigelse, men gi råd og innspill. Samordningsrutinen for regionale statsetater vil derfor ikke gjelde for denne planen. Planen er drøftet i Planforum i både Troms og Nordland, og ved to anledninger også i et felles Planforum mellom fylkene Troms og Nordland; den 14.09.17 og 20.11.18. Planforslaget er presentert på en informativ måte for berørte offentlige instanser og plandokumentene gir et godt grunnlag for å vurdere utbyggingsplanene. Fylkesmannen i Troms og Finnmark vil gi følgende innspill til det videre arbeidet med planen: Miljøhensyn: Naturmangfold, avrenning og eutrofiering Det vesentligste av planområdet ligger i Evenes kommune i Nordland fylke. Fylkesmannen i Nordland har vurdert og utredet hensyn til miljøinteresser og avgitt uttalelse i brev datert den 11.06.19. Uttalelsen om naturmangfold, avrenning og eutrofiering er representativt også for arealene og forholdene i Skånland kommune i Troms fylke. Fylkesmannen i Troms og Finnmark viser til uttalelsen fra Fylkesmannen i Nordland for fagområdene naturmangfold, avrenning og eutrofiering, og kan slutte seg til vurderingene for de nevnte fagområdene.

    Banners in heraldic art Magnus Backrnark Abstract The banner is very useful to heraldic art. It is a carrier of charges and colours, just like its coun­ terpart the shield. But where the shield can be seen as crude, heavy, flat and robust - its purpose being taking hits- the banner is brilliant, swift, full of I ife and motion. Its purpose is spiritual. It is lifted above anyone's head, above dust and confusion, for inspiration and guiding. Something of this character, I will with this article try to show by examples that the heraldic artist, if lucky, can translate in his or her work. First, we could though take a quick glance at the historical development of banners. The term banner approves, as we shall see, to a specific kind of flag, but in a wide sense of the word a banner is any ensign made of a peace of cloth, carried on a staff and with symbolic value to its owner(s). The profound nature of this innovation, which seem to be of oriental origin, makes it the mother of all kinds of flags. The etymologi­ cal root of the word banner is the French word banniere, derived from latin bandaria, bandum, which has German extraction, related to gothic bandwa, bandw6, 'sign'. 1 The birth of heraldry in the l2 h century Western world was preceded by centuries of use of early forms of banners, called gonfanons.
