These theories have since been debunked, but prohibition’s direct cause to the rise of the Speakeasy in the 1920s stands true. Interview with MAJ Jeff Struecker Combat Studies Institute Fort Leavenworth, Kansas UNCLASSIFIED Abstract MAJ Jeff Struecker served as a chaplain with the 82nd Airborne Division and Ranger Regiment in multiple places in Iraq and Afghanistan from 2003 through 2009 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) and Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF). In this July 2010 interview, MAJ Struecker discusses the challenges of being a chaplain in a combat situation, the benefits his 13 years prior enlisted gave, and the difficulties he faced in being everywhere he felt he needed to be on any given deployment. MAJ Struecker concludes his interview with the observation, "I'll tell you what, I've had a chance to go back and watch some of America's greatest warriors; some of the best warriors that our nation has ever produced and I'm amazed at their resiliency. I'm amazed at their commitment to the cause of freedom. These guys, for the most part, if they've been around the SOC, specifically the JTF since before 9/11, they have not had a break from war since 2001. If you think back on it now, and as a historian you'll understand this, we have not asked that of anybody in the history of our country, certainly not with an all volunteer force. We've forced some people through the draft to do that but we've never done it with an all volunteer force before.

Their clinical expertise and leadership are valuable assets in designing and conducting initiatives known to improve the quality of patient care. While physicians are often asked to lead quality improvement activities, they may not have access to the resources they need to be successful. In response to this need, the Wisconsin Hospital Association (WHA) created the WHA Physician Quality Academy for physicians employed by its member hospitals and health systems. “Quality improvement initiatives are powerful tools for making sure evidence-based practices make it to the bedside and are performed consistently,” according to Robert S. Redwood, MD, MPH, and faculty for the WHA Physician Quality Academy. “As physicians, quality improvement empowers our profession to use population health data to better inform our individual patient care.” The WHA Physician Quality Academy will bring physicians together from across the state who can then collaborate and build on their QI knowledge. A Content Analysis of the Gendered Style of Political Pundits on the "Big Five" Megan A. Ancarrow ABSTRACT It is well known that males dominate politics, both in elected positions and in the media as political pundits (Melber, 2011). Is it the masculine style that is appealing to society? Do popular political pundits (male and female) emulate this masculine style in order to appeal to and persuade their audience? Through a content analysis of the rhetoric of six specified political pundits, it is hypothesized that both males and females are more likely to incorporate masculine styles of rhetoric, and those who display more masculine style traits will be more acceptable to the general audience leading to more airtime and appearances across networks. Through the analysis of the programs’ 2013 transcripts, the communicative style of both male and female political pundits of the top five news programs from the big five networks will be studied: ABC's This Week with George Stephanopoulos, CBS's Face the Nation with Bob Schieffer, CNN's State of the Union with Candy Crowley, Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace, and NBC's Meet the Press with Chuck Todd.
