The Stettler Canalta Hotel donated and sold 275 hot dogs, and 192 cans of pop; combined with the schools sale of jumbo freezies, the Stettler Middle School was able to raise approximately $900. The local RCMP and Animal Control came to the school with the local police van, and challenged the students to "Jam the Van" with as many students as they could. Each grade pitted the boys against the girls, with the grade 8 boys successfully squishing 36 people in the van. This was also a great opportunity for the officers to have some one on one time with the students and let them know that it's ok to come forward if someone is bullying them. Over all it was a beautifully sunny day, with laughing kids, friendly officers, and amazing Nathan's Hot Dogs. DARRYL WORLEY The Star Of Voghera Country Festival 2018 One of the highlights of Voghera Country Festival ’s 11th edition will be Darryl Worley ‘s Saturday night concert ! Acting as a backdrop to this momentous occasion (Saturday June 23rd 2018) will be the Cowboys Guest Ranch Palatexas, a resort known the world over for its unique atmosphere and the ideal place to experience high quality music, entertainment, life in the open air and family time. Shortly after his birth in Memphis, Darryl’s family moved to Nashville and it was only in later life that he decided to make singing his career, songwriting being his initial focus and only then after having performed in numerous honky tonks between Tennessee and Alabama and taking diverse odd jobs which had little or nothing to do with music. His first record deal with DreamWorks Records came around in 1999, adding his name to an already rich roster of artists such as Toby Keith, Randy Travis, Emerson Drive, Jessica Andrews and Jimmy Wayne. This first deal brings forth Darryl’s debut album Hard Rain Don’t Last , released in 2000 and produced by Frank Rogers (Brad Paisley, Darius Rucker, Josh Turner, Phil Vassar, Trace Adkins) and James Stroud (Clay Walker, Tracy Lawrence, Clint Black, Toby Keith, Lorrie Morgan). Reactions to this album are very positive, seeing as 3 of its 4 singles find their way into the Top 20 Us Country chart. Almost every song on the album is penned by Darryl himself and in his numerous interviews he cites Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard, George Jones and Hank Williams as his idols and sources of inspiration.

Emerson Drive For well over a decade, Emerson Drive has been a staple in the country music community, known for being a band to crank out the hits, deliver electrifying stage shows and wow audiences all across North America. During their evolving career, the Canadian band has scored numerous hits such as “I Should Be Sleeping,” “Fall Into Me,” “Last One Standing” and their emotional, chart-topping ballad, “Moments.” Emerson Drive has racked up countless award nominations in both the U.S. country market at the ACM’s and CMA’s, as well as in Canada where they have picked up multiple trophies for Group or Duo of the Year from the CCMA (Canadian Country Music Association). But it was their 2007 hit, “Moments,” that pushed Emerson Drive over the top in country music. The powerful song validated the talent and passion of the band’s drive to succeed in the business they know and love. “Looking back 10 years ago and seeing where our career first started with ‘I Should Be Sleeping’ and knowing that there was a movement going around us as a new act on the scene … I just remember how exciting and crazy it was, all at the same time,” recalls Emerson Drive’s lead vocalist and founding member, Brad Mates. “We were out there on the road over 240 days of the year for the first six years. I just remember those times being kind of eyes wide open, taking everything in. It was such a great first few years, and now fast forward 10 or 11 years, we’re still playing music and making music.
