Going from Punk Rock, to Metal, to pop, and finally country, Phil has been known, by most, as a well rounded player. He was born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago and move to Nashville after college. Since making the move, Phil and Lexi have been on numerous radio tours, opened for some of their favorite artists, and played the main stage for many festivals. Phil is currently road managing and band leading for Lexi while rocking along side her on the stage. Allie Summers performs not only as a fiddle player, but also as a singer with various acts in Nashville, Tennessee. Allie’s traditional fiddling background, where she was one-half of a bluegrass duo alongside her banjo-picking father, provided a foundation that led her on the path to exploring and perfecting her art and skill through various genres of music, including classical, jazz, rock, hip-hop, country, and bluegrass. A graduate of Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana, and 4-year member of the Butler Symphony Orchestra, Allie has gone on to share her gift and education with others through performance. Allie currently plays with several bands, including country artist Lexi Larsen and bluegrass band Blue Moon. You can see Allie perform weekly at Tootsie's in downtown Nashville. Brad DuVall was selected as a ‘Guitar God’ by the Tulsa World newspaper for many, many good and well-documented reasons. Serenading his family at 5 with ‘Tiger By The Tail’ on a plastic guitar. This, of course, led to much more. His career spans five decades, going back to his days in Tulsa clubs, playing guitar and bass before he could drive, much less legally enter the clubs in which he was playing, having played both instruments backing many musicians, including a young Ronnie Dunn. He has performed numerous times before crowds as great as 80,000 during the Country Jam Concert Series, Country Fever and A Day In The Country. This also led to playing alongside of many of country’s finest, including Trace Atkins, Blake Shelton, Kenny Chesney, Lonestar, Diamond Rio and many others. Jim Thacker is a touring and recording professional who has shared the stage with artists in wide a variety of musical styles. He is equally at home playing country, rock, jazz, blues and just about anything in between. His experience includes extensive touring in Europe, Canada and all fifty U.S. states. When not on the road Jim enjoys duties as owner/ operator at OTD Studios in Nashville, TN. Mark Young began playing music around 12 years old in Southeastern Missouri where he grew up. Starting out performing in weekend Branson style variety shows as a rhythm guitarist and vocalist. Then, at 14 years old after selling a cow for $500, he bought his first drum set and never looked back. After performing on drums with his family band and countless other local acts in Missouri, Mark moved to Nashville Tennessee in the fall of 1993.

  • Barbara Mettler: Germany, Life Before and In, 1933
Barbara Mettler: Germany, Life Before And In, 1933. Interview, date and interviewer unknown. BM: I was united to Allan in life and work and in New York when we started he helped me very very much with my work. And then of course up in New Hampshire when we moved the school up there. And I was determined to be a good partner. I was determined to be a good wife. I just felt that I had everything to learn in that direction and that I wanted to do what was right. This perhaps accounts for some of my feeling that I stick with him and don’t care what his past was. Now the fears that he experienced of course, or the enemies that he had of course, were mine too, and I wanted to share the difficulties. It was not in my nature to conceal the truth. It was not in my nature to deceive. As our life together went on I was drawn into a web of total deception as to the nature of his life, and work, and situation and past and present and future, which was very, very difficult for me for two reasons. Or perhaps it’s all the same reason. I was a child of America, naïve as Americans can be – as Americans could be at that time and can still be – A midwesterner, right at the heart of the country with unsophisticated lifestyles and simplicity where everybody knew everybody and everybody knew what everybody else did. And we never concealed anything, I know there were terrible prejudices, I know there were anti-Catholic prejudices and there were anti-Semitic prejudices although we didn’t have any Jews in our community so it didn’t have a chance to express itself.

  • Restless Heart
RESTLESS HEART Restless Heart lead singer Larry Stewart can remember the exact moment and place his life began to change forever. “I was driving east on I-40 from West Nashville into town to an appointment,” he recalls. “Back then, I was listening to what we were doing in my Jeep Cherokee every day. I had turned the radio on, and ‘Let The Heartache Ride’ was right in the middle of the acapella intro.” Stewart had been living with the song for a while, and hearing it through his car speakers wasn’t that big of a deal – until he looked at the stereo and saw the numbers 97.9. “It didn’t sink in because I had it in the tape deck for days, then I realized ‘That’s the radio. It’s WSIX.’ I pulled over on the shoulder around White Bridge Road and sat there with my car idling. It was like yesterday.” ‘Yesterday’ has come full circle for Restless Heart. Then one of Nashville’s newest acts, the band is celebrating their 30th Anniversary in 2013, and Dave Innis enjoys the musical ride as much as ever. “I think it’s been an amazing legacy, and it’s been such an honor to have been part of an organization that is still together doing it after thirty years with the same five original guys, and it’s more fun than ever.” John Dittrich, Greg Jennings, Paul Gregg, Dave Innis, and Larry Stewart – the men who make up Restless Heart have enjoyed one of the most successful careers in Country Music history, placing over 25 singles on the charts – with six consecutive #1 hits, four of their albums have been certified Gold by the RIAA, and they have won a wide range of awards from many organizations – including the Academy of Country Music’s Top Vocal Group trophy.

  • “The Stories Behind the Songs”
“The Stories Behind The Songs” John Henderson The Stories Behind The Songs A compilation of “inside stories” behind classic country hits and the artists associated with them John Debbie & John By John Henderson (Arrangement by Debbie Henderson) A fascinating and entertaining look at the life and recording efforts of some of country music’s most talented singers and songwriters 1 Author’s Note My background in country music started before I even reached grade school. I was four years old when my uncle, Jack Henderson, the program director of 50,000 watt KCUL-AM in Fort Worth/Dallas, came to visit my family in 1959. He brought me around one hundred and fifty 45 RPM records from his station (duplicate copies that they no longer needed) and a small record player that played only 45s (not albums). I played those records day and night, completely wore them out. From that point, I wanted to be a disc jockey. But instead of going for the usual “comedic” approach most DJs took, I tried to be more informative by dropping in tidbits of a song’s background, something that always fascinated me. Originally with my “Classic Country Music Stories” site on Facebook (which is still going strong), and now with this book, I can tell the whole story, something that time restraints on radio wouldn’t allow. I began deejaying as a career at the age of sixteen in 1971, most notably at Nashville’s WENO-AM and WKDA- AM, Lakeland, Florida’s WPCV-FM (past winner of the “Radio Station of the Year” award from the Country Music Association), and Springfield, Missouri’s KTTS AM & FM and KWTO-AM, but with syndication and automation which overwhelmed radio some twenty-five years ago, my final DJ position ended in 1992.

DARRYL WORLEY The Star Of Voghera Country Festival 2018 One of the highlights of Voghera Country Festival ’s 11th edition will be Darryl Worley ‘s Saturday night concert ! Acting as a backdrop to this momentous occasion (Saturday June 23rd 2018) will be the Cowboys Guest Ranch Palatexas, a resort known the world over for its unique atmosphere and the ideal place to experience high quality music, entertainment, life in the open air and family time. Shortly after his birth in Memphis, Darryl’s family moved to Nashville and it was only in later life that he decided to make singing his career, songwriting being his initial focus and only then after having performed in numerous honky tonks between Tennessee and Alabama and taking diverse odd jobs which had little or nothing to do with music. His first record deal with DreamWorks Records came around in 1999, adding his name to an already rich roster of artists such as Toby Keith, Randy Travis, Emerson Drive, Jessica Andrews and Jimmy Wayne. This first deal brings forth Darryl’s debut album Hard Rain Don’t Last , released in 2000 and produced by Frank Rogers (Brad Paisley, Darius Rucker, Josh Turner, Phil Vassar, Trace Adkins) and James Stroud (Clay Walker, Tracy Lawrence, Clint Black, Toby Keith, Lorrie Morgan). Reactions to this album are very positive, seeing as 3 of its 4 singles find their way into the Top 20 Us Country chart. Almost every song on the album is penned by Darryl himself and in his numerous interviews he cites Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard, George Jones and Hank Williams as his idols and sources of inspiration.
