OKIOCAM is a portable 2-in-1 Webcam and Document Camera with an adjustable arm and 360- degree rotating camera. Provides ease of presentation of the physical resources (such as a book or manipulative) on a computer screen, and allows the creation of educational videos, including overhead recording, stop motion, and time-lapse. It is easy to use, USB plug, supports Windows, Mac, and Chromebook. a. EdTech and Design students will use the webcams to create educational videos and experiment with integration with video capture software (camera works with Zoom, Google Meet, Flipgrid, SeeSaw, WeVideo, and more). b. The instructor will use the webcam to model the resource's use, present non-computer- based resources via ZOOM, and create educational resources for online students. B. Universal cellphone and tablets' stands will assist with video conferencing, video recording, and second screen use. Last semester many students were building elaborate stands from their books and backpacks to prop their phones. With many students in quarantine, video conferencing with teammates was a regular occurrence. Stands will also be helpful during video production activities and as a holder for their secondary screen. C. Digital Drawing Graphics Tablet with Battery-Free Stylus allows natural drawing motion. Tablet is designed for drawing, painting, sketching, handwriting. Compatible with Mac, Windows, and Androids devices a. Students will use technology tool to boost creativity, and practice the use of digital tools while working on educational videos. b. Students will experience a mouse alternative device for enhancing fine motor skills. 2) Identify how project will impact and benefit student learning include % affected and number affected. The listed above resources will be available to our Educational Technology and Design students (INSTTECH 1031) during the course's hands-on lab portion. We have approximately 120 students every semester. The usage of OKIOCAM will support the technology integration with pedagogy. In Educational Technology and Design course, we introduce students to the TPACK framework that explains a need for a purposeful balance between pedagogy, technology, and content knowledge. Students will frame their developing content knowledge with applications and tools that embrace pedagogical methods that work in concert with technology. The proposal supports the Dis/ability Justice aspect of the component 4: Candidates must understand the importance of diversity and equity and engage in opportunities to promote social justice. Experimenting with the drawing tablet and stylus as an alternative to a mouse and cellphone stands for videoconferencing will allow students to experiment with assistive and adaptive technology. 4) Describe your plan to assess the impact of the technology project on student learning. The instructional impact of resources will be measured by surveying all students in INSTTECH 1031 courses at the conclusion of each semester. The survey will measure student utilization and satisfaction with the resources provided. 5) Support Needed: a. Who will install technology and provide technical support for project? – Ideally, I would like to have two OKIOCAMs available at SEC 133 and 2 in IRTS for check out.
