It is hereby notified that the Academic Council at its meeting held on 17-7-2017 as per Item No. II C of the minutes, resolved to approve the change of nomenclature of various programmes under the Faculty of Journalism. As per section 39 (1) of the Calicut University Act, 1975 the change of nomenclature of various UG/PG Programmes coming under the Faculty of Journalism as approved by the Academic Council was laid before the Senate at its meeting held on 22-7-2017. The Senate approved the same as per Item No. IV-7 of the Minutes dated 22-7-2017, retaining the existing pattern, practical components, hours dedicated to them and the work load as recommended by the Faculty of Journalism. Accordingly the change of nomenclature of the programmes coming under the Faculty of Journalism are effected as follows: (1) Master of Communication and Journalism (MCJ) is changed to MA Journalism and Mass Communication (2) Master of Visual Communication (MVC) is changed to MA Visual Communication. (3) Bachelor of Multimedia Communication (BMMC) is changed to BA Multimedia. (4) Bachelor of Visual Communication (BVC) is changed to BA Visual Communication. (5) Bachelor of Television and Film Production (BTFP) is changed to BA Film and Television. The above change is made effective from 2017 admission onwards.
