The Notre Damian | Summer 2017 7 From the Principal Campus Notes Outstanding Educator Blessings Alumnae, Families, and Friends of NDA! of the Year

As the principal of Notre Dame Academy, it is my role to leave our students with a few thoughts each time we meet. Whether it is after the celebration of the mass together, a pep rally or lunch, I try to impart a few words of wisdom to our students in these moments. Sometimes it is as simple as, “Enjoy the rest of your day.” Oftentimes it is as important as, “Make good choices!” At our graduation celebration this year, I found myself once again with the responsibility and privilege of leaving our seniors with a few final thoughts.

I gave great consideration to these remarks and found myself reaching back to my days in the classroom for inspiration. As a math teacher for twenty-five years, I often spoke to my students about their math toolbox. I taught them the importance of the skills and tools they would need CLASS OF 2017 TOP HONORS to survive mathematics.
