We have different youth groups, such as the Young Pioneers of Christ, Cub Scouts, Brownies, CYC, JPC, Green Teens, English Ambassadors, Putonghua Ambassadors, Little Gardeners and Reading Buddies. We have different school teams for Volleyball/Basketball, Swimming, Chinese dance, Hong Kong Chinese Martial Arts dragon and lion dance team, Concert band, Choir, Choral speaking and Mathematical Olympiad. There are interest classes to develop pupils' talents, such as Chinese Kung-fu, Karate, Magic, Ink-wash painting and Phonics. School Mission Based on the spirit of gospel building pupils' moral, develop pupils' independent thinking and critical thinking by creating a good learning atmosphere roster pupils' civic sense, like care for the our society and love our own country. Meetings are held regularly. School Green Policy: We have established an environmental policy including environmental management and environmental education. School's Major Concerns: 1. Learning and Teaching Plan Learning & Teaching Strategies: 1. The school promotes students' self-directed learning. Through different subjects, cross subject curriculum and different teaching strategies, students' potentials are highly promoted. The teaching strategies include thinking tools, reading across the curriculum, STEM education, E-learning, cooperative learning, life-wide learning, project learning and gifted education. 2. Assessment Quality-assurance Platform (AQP) is a powerful tool to find out problematic items or papers so that teachers can identify students' strengths and weaknesses that provide appropriate teaching and learning support. 3. The well-designed teaching strategy "Four High" (High Participation, High Interaction, High enjoyment and High thinking) are used to promote students' learning interest. Development of Key Tasks: 1. Reading to Learn: The school arranges lessons in collaboration with the school library, reading award schemes, reading across the curriculum, Reading Aunt/Uncle for P.1 students, Reading Ambassadors, etc. 2. IT: The well-equipped instructional multimedia such as interactive whiteboards, tablets and IT software are used both in classrooms and outside classroom. 3. The school arranges activities to equip students with the project learning skills: Cross-curriculum life-wide learning activities for P.1-P.6. STEM education is instilled in the topics of General Studies and project learning. 4. Moral and Civic Education: Under the vision of Catholic Schools, the school provides comprehensive student guidance services to nurture students with the 5 core values of Catholic Education. The school fosters students to develop good personality and positive attitude towards life through whole-person education, personal growth education, Catholic Social Ethics and non-formal curriculum. Development of Generic Skills: The formal curriculum and life-wide learning help students develop different generic skills. Teachers make good use of different teaching strategies and learning activities to develop students' generic skills such as communication, collaboration, critical thinking and creativity, etc.The school has been deploying strategies such as cooperative learning, self-learning packages, rewarding scheme and E-learning platform to build up students' self-directed learning. Promotion of Positive Values and Attitudes: Positive, Excellent, Tough, Energetic and Reflective Student Support Whole School Approach to Catering for Learner Diversity: 1. Promote small-class teaching, use cooperative learning or collaborative teaching. 2. Main subject sets up stratified work to take care of diversity of students. 3. Make good use of information technology to integrate teaching activities, enhance classroom interaction and learning interest. 4. Adjust homework, courses and exams for students in need. Whole School Approach to Integrated Education: The school promotes integrated education with a whole-school participation model, and strives to build an inclusive and caring campus. The school flexibly uses the learning support grant to recruit teachers and teaching assistants, and outsourcing support services, including: sense integration, literacy, execution skills, emotional intelligence, social networking and other training groups, and cooperates with educational psychologists through cross-professional cooperation, Speech therapists, etc. provide assessment, referral and individual learning plans for students with special learning needs, and support students through home-school cooperation. Education Support for Non-Chinese Speaking (NCS) Students: Our school provides additional support for NCS students to facilitate their learning of Chinese: Chinese tutoring before class and homework tutoring after class. Curriculum Tailoring and Adaptation: 1. Special arrangements for school-based Primary One silent book and examination. 2. The main subject design is divided into classes, taking care of students' different learning needs. 3. Provide homework and assessment arrangements for students with different special learning needs.
