DINGLEY The vicissitudes of former skipper Tony Lavars puts in week after Reserves, somewhat unexpectedly perhaps, week. the outer’s mood could be likened to the back in action. Having watched the seniors oscillations of a pendulum, as momentum Preliminary Finals are the point where you might shake the Chelsea Heights monkey off their swung fi rst Chelsea’s way in both the opening start daring to dream what may lie beyond. For back, they have now inexplicably managed to periods, only to be reeled in by a Dingley many of these boys, there is the possibility that make that very team their own nemesis. At half time we they could never get the opportunity to play this and a rematch in the big one awaits. clung to the hope that we could improve on in a Grand Final at this level again, or with this Sponsors: Carlisle Homes, Top Cat Safety our tardy starts, and that surely the bigger group. The words of Mark Williams last week Rail (CSR Australia), Dingley International, Heighters would inevitably start to tire and should therefore not be dismissed as fl eeting, Woolworths Supermarket Dingley, Bendigo our youthful fi tness would come to the fore. they should linger with reinforced importance Bank, Tranzworks, Craig Allen & Associates, With about fi fteen minutes to go, things fi nally as the players grasp the chance to do this, Eagle Printing, Hinkler Motors, Hire A Hubby clicked and enough goals ensued to facilitate not only for themselves, but with-and for-their Mentone, Keysborough Hotel, Parkmore a 19 point win and progress to a place where mates. Nothing about St Pauls will be easy, least Medical Centre, Patterson Cheney Toyota, Ray the stakes are even higher. The early loss of of all the brobdingnagian task of restricting their White Cheltenham/Dingley, Star Ceilings, The Phil Ball meant scoring opportunities had to high-fl ying full forward, who we haven’t had to Natural Source, Ausfi re, Braeside Pest Control, be exigently conjured from other sources, grapple with in our two previous encounters Hannafords, Hoade Drainage, Goulding and both Freos chimed in on more than one with the Doggies. I can’t not mention truth be known, the numbers of followers has Glows, Din San, Redwood Gardens, Dingley also the toughness and courage of our captain been slightly disappointing to date. Conveyancing, Ideal Garden Supplies, Wonnacott, nor the unbelievable effort that The penultimate weekend also sees the Macmor Electrical, Buxton Real Estate.

ST PAULS SENIORS V East Brighton - Sponsored by Merkon Constructions: The old adage of ‘bad kicking equates to bad football’ was probably never more evident than in our clash against arch rivals East Brighton. Not only did we squander many shots at goal (2 goals 6 behinds) in the 2nd term but our decision making and fi eld kicking left a lot to be desired. This allowed EB to counter attack off the back of misdirected or poorly weighted passes. Down back we were well served by Steeter who did an excellent job on the EB skipper, Douthie whilst Marra, Dawsey, Kenny, T Mac and Blacky all stood fi rm. LJ provided the days highlight with what could easily be ‘Mark of the Year’ and fi nished with 5 goals. Through the middle Willow and Junior won more than their share of the footy but we must have a more even spread of contributors and now throw everything we have at Dingley to continue this fi nals campaign. As Norm Smith Wilson once pondered… A Black belt is a white belt who never quit… RESERVES V Clayton - Sponsored by Total Waste Management: The Springvale oval requires a special pattern of ball movement to enable teams to score more than 10 goals. The boys unlocked that secret against Clayton and in the process gained a lot of confi dence. James Marasco & big Jimmy Clements were both excellent mobile key targets whilst Browny, Jaz & Wyldey added speed and some unpredictability to our forward setup. In the midfi eld Bryce Hayes was magnifi cent in both winning the hard contested footy and also fi nishing with 4 valuable goals. Johnno the ‘Colac Express’ … he winds up like the energizer bunny when he hears that Springvale siren go off and when he gets near the footy the Boom gates open up for him. “Stand clear Platform 33… Stand clear please” This week we come up against our biggest modern day rival in Dingley in what should be a crackerjack encounter… Let’s get there in huge numbers to support the boys… GO DOGGA Under 19’s V Murrumbeena - Sponsored by the Cushion Lounge: Our boys simply left too much to do too late in the game. Trailing by 39 points late in the 3rd quarter we rallied kicking the last 6 goals of the match to go down by 3 points. It was both disappointing but encouraging to see the team fi ght it out to the fi nal siren. Nobody was better than Braggers who fi nished the season full of running and added another BOG to his recent haul. Carl Herb gave us tremendous value in the ruck and Birdie, Pauly and Michael all battled right to the end to try and drag us over the line, in the end the siren beat us. The coaches Wayne & Daz thank all the boys who pulled on the Doggy jumper this season for their efforts. I would like to thank the countless volunteers who do magnifi cent work every week to ensure we present a professional and well-oiled machine , in particular my thanks go to Wayne and Daz (build it and they will come ) for their tireless work in the U19’s and being the interface with the juniors. We’re still there let’s give it a go

The AlterG Anti-Gravity Treadmill at Gravity Free Rehab gives injured players a “head start”, to get them back to full-training, and then playing, sooner.

A key component of the AlterG treadmill is its capacity to lighten the players’ bodyweight, when they’re using the Anti- Gravity treadmill, therefore decreasing the impact on their joints."

Using unique patented NASA differential air pressure technology to allow normal running and walking patterns with a reduction of up to 80% in bodyweight, this machine is perfect for:

x Athletes recovering from injury or surgery (ACL, meniscal repair, hip labral repairs) who are unable to weight-bear fully

x Athletes who don't respond well to the impact forces associated with running (eg Meniscal or Cartilage damage)

x People who are over-weight and want to utilise running for weight-loss or sport

x Rehabilitation after Total-Knee or Hip Replacement

x Neurological Gait re-training after Stroke or Head Injury
