Last Sunday saw a rematch of last year’s preliminary final as The work of Lucas Walmsley and Tony Lavars were immense Dingley took on St Pauls. It was a massive win as I think it releases the pressure valve It was tight and tough early on as scoring was at a premium, knowing they can win close finals, something which may have but I felt St Pauls settled down the quickest. James threatened to take the game away from the Dingoes until he went off injured in the 3rd term, but up stepped Travis Ridgway whose 3rd quarter was outstanding. On the other hand Dingley looked rather one-dimensional going forward and were struggling for scoring avenues. Heading into the final quarter you felt the Dingoes were going get some chances against a tiring Doggies outfit. The question was whether they were good enough to take them? When Ridgway kicked the first two of the final term to put St Pauls 21 points in front, it looked beyond the Dingoes. It sparked them into action as for really the first time all day they played the football we’ve seen them play all year.
