The name OAKS, short for Old ArnoldKEQMS, seems fi tting, raising the obvious imagery of acorns developing into mature oak trees. This is an umbrella organisation, covering the existing alumni groups of Arnold, King Edward and Queen Mary Schools. One of the attractions to me, when I applied for the headship of AKS, was the huge potential of the history and heritage of those three former schools. But as we move forward, so many of our students, including my own children, will only associate with the combined AKS. By joining the OAKS, they are now connected to all former, present and future students of our great school.
