Through founding NBL Canada in 2011, he has grown the concept of professional basketball in this country into a real-life opportunity for Canadian children to dream about a future where they can play the sport they love in the country they call home. Andre has had substantial business experience and has owned and operated several business in the US and central Canada, including a communications company and a restaurant. The formula he uses to achieve business success is the same as how he lives his life – giving back. Over the past five years, Andre has folded the Halifax Rainmen into the fabric of the Nova Scotia community and is steering the league in the same community-focused direction. Ian McCarthy – Chief Operating Officer [email protected] Ian McCarthy currently serves in a dual role as the Chief Operating Officer of NBL Canada, as well as the President and General Manager of the Saint John Mill Rats. He has worked in the professional basketball industry for over seven years and during that time has founded several franchises and served many roles. Off the court McCarthy serves as an international ambassador of goodwill for the game of basketball, reaching out to and partnering with overseas champions such as the St. Lucia Realtors (Philippines), the Capitanes de Arecibo (Puerto Rico), the Beijing Aoshen (China/Singapore), and the Sendai 89ers (Japan). He is one of the founders of the National Basketball League of Canada. The National Basketball League of Canada Page 3 Paul Riley – Commissioner [email protected] Paul Riley, Esq. is based out of Toronto where he primarily practices Sports, Entertainment and Media law, with selected Criminal Defence work. His client list has included Pulitzer Prize-winning writers, television stars, professional sports leagues and numerous media companies. A former television journalist, he spent eight years working as a reporter and news anchor for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation and has appeared on CNN, among other major networks. Mr Riley has a law degree from Osgoode Hall Law School, his Bachelors Degree from Dalhousie University and a Journalism Diploma from Humber College. Audley Stephenson – Producer/Host of “NBL Canada Live” [email protected] Audley Stephenson is the producer and host of "NBL Canada Live" which is the main publicity and promotion vehicle for the league. Throughout the regular season and playoffs, "NBL Canada Live" provides coverage on all NBL Canada teams through exclusive web based interviews providing the latest updates, highlights and stories from players, coaches and league personnel.
