Services Provided: • Routine histologic evaluation of all inflammatory and neoplastic lesions of skin and nails • Histochemical stains (PAS, GMS, Fontana-Masson, iron, elastic stain, Congo Red, AFB, Fite, Alcian blue, mucicarmine) • PAS (Periodic acid-Schiff) stain for rapid diagnosis of onychomycosis in nail biopsies and tinea pedis in skin samples; reflex GMS and culture also available • Immunohistochemistry (over 50 antibodies) • In-situ hybridization • Direct immunofluorescence (C3, IgG, IgA, IgM, fibrinogen) • Second opinions provided by Dr. Cynthia Magro, Director of Dermatopathology at Weill Cornell Medical Center (New York, NY) • Back-up coverage provided by board-certified dermatopathologists at StrataDx (Lexington, MA)
