Several of our churches have Tbeen working for a number of years with Citizens to join with other organisations of the same faith, of different faiths, and no faith at all, for the common good of wider society. Community organising has helped hundreds of Anglicans and thousands of Christians in the Diocese to live the life of discipleship in the public sphere, working across difference to tackle social injustice. As they have done so, the practical tools of community organising have helped to shape their understanding of how to be a relational and relevant public voice, as well as contributing to strengthening the participating churches themselves through developing leadership capacity and skills.

NOTTINGHAMSHIRE HISTORIC CHURCHES TRUST SPONSORED RIDE AND STRIDE

Saturday 14th September 2019 Make a note in your diary.

Has your Church signed up yet for this year’s Ride & Stride event. Please do so – it’s not so hard a task and it will help your Church and many others who require much needed help when repairs are found necessary.

Our Ride + Stride event shares the same weekend with the Heritage Open Days and this year the One Life Mission weekend when Bishops from up North are coming to our area and the Ride & Stride is an excellent opportunity to take advantage of the publicity and open your church to show your neighbours and visitors the beauty of your Church and something of your life and achievements.

We particularly hope that churches which have been in receipt of grants from the Trust will show their appreciation by taking part this year.

All the details are on the Notts Historic Church Trust web site now - or If you require further information on any of the above please contact Margaret on mobile 07757 800919 or [email protected]
