ST teenib alati tellija turunduslikke eesmärke. Nõukogude-Lääne esimese ühisettevõtte EKE-Sadolin sünnist saab 30 aastat Sadolini värvid, puidukaitsevahend Pinotex ja metallikaitsevärv Hammeri- te on Eesti turul tuntud tegijad juba palju aastaid. Veidi vähem on ehk teada, et kõik need kolm tugevat kaubamärki kuuluvad Hollandi ajaloolise taustaga keemia- kontserni AkzoNobel. „Eestis tegutseb ettevõte Akzo Nobel Bal- tics ASi nimel all aastast 2011, kuid AkzoNo- beli kontserni liikmeks sai ES Sadolin AS ju- ba 1994. aastal,“ täpsustab Akzo Nobel Bal- tics ASi juhatuse liige Elena Past. Pinotex tooteid hakati Raplas tootma ju- ba 1984. aastal ehk sügaval nõukogude ajal. Kuigi koostöökokkulepe soomlastega ühis- firma loomiseks oli põhimõtteliselt tehtud, oli tee lepingu sõlmimiseni tolle aja kohta iseloomulikult pikk: sellise sammu astumi- seks oli vaja väga palju allkirju, tunnistusi, paberite läbivaatamisi ja lisaselgitusi. Lõ- puks jõuti sihile ning 1987. aasta juunis loo- dud EKE-Sadolin S.P. oli esimene Nõukogu- de ja Lääne firmade ühiselt loodud tööstus- ettevõte, mille üleminek Vene–Soome ühis- ettevõttest Eesti–Soome firmaks laabus pä- rast Eesti iseseisvumist kiirelt ja suurema- te raskusteta.
