A commonly asked and understandable question, because not every refill or cartridge is suitable for your pen. On this page you will find a clear explanation on refills and inks. An important question, because not only the ink is different, but most of the times a rollerball refill won't fit a ballpoint pen and vice versa. To start with the ink: rollerball ink is liquid, where ballpoint ink is somewhat waxy and you have to push to get the ballpoint ink onto the paper. Often, the easiest way to determine whether you need a ballpoint refill of rollerball refill is by answering the following question: Does the pen have a twist/turn mechanism or a click mechanism? If the answer is yes, you probably are holding a ballpoint pen. Please note there are exceptions to this rule: some rollers also have a twist action mechanism.
