He helped the U.S. Olympic men’s ice hockey team make an improbable run to the gold-medal game against Canada. Zach’s experience on the ice gives Team USA fans something to look forward to in Sochi and beyond. Personal Zach comes from a talented family, his father, Jean-Paul Parise, was an NHL all-star champion and his brother Jordan Parise is a professional hockey player. In 2002, Zach joined the Fighting Sioux at the University of North Dakota where he was named to the Western Collegiate Hockey Association’s All-Rookie Team in his first year. In 2003, Zach was drafted by NHL’s New Jersey Devils. Between Olympic Games, Zach plays for his home state Minnesota Wild of the NHL.
