WINNIPEG SAINT PAUL, Minn. – The Minnesota Wild’s 2021-22 National Hockey League (NHL) regular season schedule, presented By Associated Bank, was released today. The Wild opens the season in Anaheim on Friday, Oct. 15 – the seventh straight campaign Minnesota will start on the road. The Wild returns to Saint Paul for its home opener on Tuesday, Oct. 19, hosting the Winnipeg Jets at Xcel Energy Center. Game times and Broadcast information will Be announced at a later date. The 2021-22 schedule consists of 82 games – 41 home contests and 41 road contests. Minnesota’s home schedule features 20 weekend games (four on Friday, nine on Saturday and seven on Sunday). The Wild will host the St. Louis Blues in the 2022 NHL Winter Classic on Saturday, Jan. 1 at Target Field, home of the Minnesota Twins. Minnesota’s three home games in October are the fewest in franchise history while the 25 home games from Jan. 1 to the end of the season are the most in franchise history in a full season. The Wild has a franchise- high 12 home games during the month of March and a franchise-best nine-game homestand from March 13-31. The Wild will play 26 games against Central Division opponents, including three games each against AriZona (two home, one road) and St. Louis (one home, two road). Minnesota will play four games (two home and two road each) against Chicago, Colorado, Dallas, Nashville and Winnipeg. The Wild will face its newest divisional opponent, the Coyotes, for the first time on Wednesday, Nov. 10 in AriZona. Minnesota will also play three games against each team in the Pacific Division for a total of 24 games: Anaheim (two home, one road), Calgary (two home, one road), Edmonton (one home, two road), Los Angeles (one home, two road), San Jose (two home, one road), Seattle (one home, two road), Vancouver (two home, one road) and Vegas (one home, two road). The Wild will face the Kraken for the first-ever matchup on Thursday, Oct. 28 in Seattle and the Kraken will play its first game at Xcel Energy Center on Friday, April 22. The 2022 NHL All-Star Game will take place on Saturday, Feb. 5 at T-MoBile Arena in Las Vegas, Nev. The Wild will play each team in the Eastern Conference twice (one home, one road) for a total of 32 contests. Popular Eastern Conference visits to Xcel Energy Center include Stanley Cup Champion Tampa Bay (Nov. 28), Toronto (Dec. 4), Washington (Jan. 8), Montreal (Jan. 24), New York Rangers (March 8) and Pittsburgh (March 31). The on-sale date and pricing for Minnesota Wild regular season tickets will Be announced at a later date. Olympic Break: No final agreement or decision has Been made to this point regarding the possible participation of NHL Players in the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics. Talks remain ongoing. Subject to reaching agreement with the NHL Players’ Association and the International Ice Hockey Federation on all outstanding issues, including appropriate COVID-19 insurance for NHL Players, the League has agreed, per the Collective Bargaining Agreement, to pause from Feb. 7-22, 2022 to accommodate NHL Player participation in the Olympic Games. The NHL and the NHL Players’ Association will retain full authority to decide not to participate should COVID-19 conditions worsen or otherwise pose a threat to the health and safety of NHL Players, or for any other reason that may warrant such decision. In the event NHL Players participate in the 2022 Winter Olympics, the NHL regular season will resume on Wednesday, FeB. 23. If, for whatever reason, there is no NHL Player participation in the Olympics, a revised Regular Season schedule will Be released which, to the greatest extent possible, will adopt the dates and games reflected in the schedule contemplating Olympic participation.
