How to get to Tromso, Norway

Air There are many daily domestic flights to Tromso Airport Langnes. Check out SAS, WIderoe and Norwegian Air. Most international flights to Tromso require a change at Airport. There are some seasonal direct flights from London Gatwick, and . Tromso Airport Langnes lies only 5 km from the city centre, and the airport express coach stops in central Tromso.

Train There is no train service to Tromso. You can take the train from Oslo, or to , where you must transfer for a long-distance bus to Tromso via . For more information about trains and booking, please visit: www.nsb.no

Ferry The Norwegian Coastal Voyage Hurtigruten calls at Tromso twice a day on its way between Bergen and Kirkenes. The northbound Hurtigruten Arrives in Tromsø at 14:15 (2.15pm) and departs Tromsø at 18:30 (6.30pm). Approximate travel times from the south are: Bergen: 64 hours Trondheim: 51 hours Bodø: 24 hours Svolvær: 17 hours : 7 hours : 3 hours The southbound Hurtigruten Arrives in Tromsø at 23:45 (11.45pm) and departs Tromsø at 01:30 (1.30am). Approximate travel times from the north are: Kirkenes: 35 hours Honningsvåg (near North Cape): 18 hours Hammerfest: 12 hours Skjervøy: 4 hours

Bus Long-distance buses connect Tromso with , Narvik, Bodo and Fauske all year round. There are three departures from Narvik to Tromsø on weekdays at 05:20 (5.20 am), 12:50 (12.50 pm) and 15:20 (3.20 pm), two departures on Saturday at 12:50 (12.50 pm) and 15:20 (3.20 pm) and three departures on Sunday at 12:50 (12.50 pm), 15:20 (3.20 pm) and 18:40 (6.40 pm). The travel time is 4.5 hours and the fare is approximately NOK 400. Tickets may be purchased on the bus only and it is possible to pay by cash (NOK) or credit card for regional buses.

Air Bodø Airport is located 2 kilometres from the city centre. The airport bus has many daily departures and covers the distance in about 5 minutes. Check out SAS, WIderoe and Norwegian Air. A flight from Oslo to Bodø takes 1 hour and 20 minutes. You can take either bus line 1 or bus line 4 to get to the centre of Bodø, travel time to ‘Bodo sentrum’ is not more than 10 minutes. The starting point at the airport is located directly in front of the main entrance. On weekdays, a bus runs at 15 minute intervals to and from the airport. The price of a bus ticket is 40 NOK. Please consult website and timetable bus line 1 and bus line 4 for more information. Bodø Airport is at a short distance from the centre. If you have little luggage, you can even walk to the city centre. Going on foot takes 10 to 15 minutes.

Train Bodo station is the end station on Nordlandsbanen. The station is located around 400m East of Bodo. Train tickets are available at http://www.nsb.no/ The train from Oslo to Bodo takes around 18 hours.
