We recommend staying at the second level of the bus to enjoy unobstructed views of the city! The entire tour would typically take as long as two hours, so sit back, relax and enjoy the ride! Hop off bus stop number 12 and explore the majestic grounds of the Royal Palace Madrid, or Palacio Real as it is locally known. Although this palace is declared the official residence of the Spanish Royal Family, bumping into one of the royal family members is rarer than you think! Palacio Real is the official venue of national ceremonies, banquets, and other state functions, and unless you are given an invite to one of these events, you may need to head to the Palace of Zarzuela to get a glimpse of the Royal family!

However, do not let this discourage you! The Royal Palace is absolutely stunning and is definitely worth a visit! Tourists are welcome to explore the 3000+ rooms, Royal Chapel, banquet halls and the throne room to name a few. Additionally, visitors also get to roam the luscious gardens that surround the palace - namely the Plaza de Oriente and Plaza de Armas!
