STUDENT CHOICE AWARDS: EATING OUT Nando’s topped the charts as the most popular restaurant for students to eat out at. With its Monday-Thursday 20% student discount and delicious meals, it’s easy to see why students are so tempted by a cheeky Nando’s! “Nando’s is always the best option when you want to go out with friends. The staff are friendly and helpful and there is something for everyone on the menu. With their close relationship with the Students’ Union and their regular advertising throughout the entire of the academic year – as well as their popular Two for Tuesday deal – it is no surprise they are in the fore front of our students minds when ordering in. “Great pizza! In portsmouth you don’t just get a pizza, you get a Domino’s. With 2016’s Student Lock In being the biggest yet, it is clear that the broad range of shops are incredibly appealing to the students with the highest income levels in the UK. “Gunwharf Quays is a great spot for shopping, eating out, socialising and relaxing with friends - it really is the student hotspot and in my top 3 things to do for students in Portsmouth. Their range of fancy dress proves incredibly popular when it comes to the many theme nights that are put on across the city by our students. “Clubs and societies, as well as birthday parties are often dressing up time and U Need Us is the perfect retailer for them. This year has seen their festival-style Oh La La Saturday nights take off with a bang and with the Eskimo Project being Portsmouth’s only Friday student night it is a top night out destination for our students. “The Astoria is easily the best place to go for a night out. It seems that it is the broad range of activities on offer in one location that make it such a popular destination, as well as its attractive seafront location. “Gunwharf has everything – shops, restaurants and entertainment. With their discounted student prices and 14 screens showing the latest blockbusters, it is no surprise they are the top choice for evening entertainment. “Vue Cinema is a fantastic place to go with friends and the prices are great for students. With its impressive Victorian façade and free entry drawing our students in, it seems they are keen to learn more about the city they have made their home. “The museum is full of historical information and artefacts. Their customer service stands them in good stead with Portsmouth students, many of whom have never rented a property before coming to university and so appreciate the support given by Kings Estates. “I let with Kings Estates for a year, and they could not have been better.
