Our administration, coaches, faculty and staff are all excited to help you experience another year of success in Academics, Athletics and Life. The past several months have been unlike any other time in our lifetimes, as we have been presented with a difficult set of challenges. As we continue to navigate through the COVID-19 pandemic, I assure you that the top priority in Nebraska Athletics is the health and safety of our student-athletes. The decisions our administration has made over the past few months and those that we make going forward are with your best interest in mind. The upcoming year will look different for all of us, and there is uncertainty about exactly how our 2020-21 athletic seasons will look. What is certain is that you are in a great place to have the best possible student-athlete experience in the country --The University of Nebraska. The resources we provide for our student-athletes measure up with any school in the country. Replacement costs include the construction cost (labor, materials, supervision, contractor's overhead and profit), fixed equipment, insurance and professional fees. It does not include the cost of movable equipment, land acquisition, artwork, utilities beyond the 5 foot line, sitework or the cost of moving. Fire insurance exclusions may allow for the reduction of the replacement cost by the cost of excavation and foundations below ground.     Friday, October 2 Take time to explore these locations during your free time: • International Quilt Study Center & Museum (East Campus). (Free to UNL Parents Weekend Participants during regular open hours – just use your event name badge as your pass. The Quilt Center has a drop-off area and is about a 10-minute walk from the East Campus Union.) • Nebraska East Union (East Campus). See beautiful East Campus and what it has to offer (Maxwell Arboretum, lovely gardens, quiet study areas, bowling, cafeteria/café, art gallery on 3rd Floor, meeting areas). • UNL Dairy Store (East Campus). Opened in 1917, the UNL Dairy Store on East Campus is a popular destination for students, faculty, staff and community members alike. They serve handmade ice creams, cheeses and meats made by UNL students in their on-site plant. Well worth the visit! (You’ll get a chance to taste some of their creamy ice cream after our closing remarks and door prize awards on Saturday afternoon. Hrs: Mon-Fri, 8am-9pm; Sat-Sun, 10am-9pm) • Larsen Tractor Test and Power Museum (East Campus). (Free during open hours; donation accepted). If you are on East Campus – this is a unique place to visit; make sure you take your camera! • Campus Recreation –newly renovated (City and East Campus) (Free to UNL Parents Weekend Participants during regular open hours – just use your event name badge as your pass) – be sure to check out the new climbing wall! Try out the exercise equipment or just tour the facilities – the choice is yours. • The Lincoln Haymarket Area – where old meets new (Downtown Lincoln).

    One year to go Construction of Lincoln’s Pinnacle Bank Arena — the future home to Husker men’s and women’s bas- ketball — is a little more than one year away from a September 2013 completion deadline. During an Aug. 17 media tour of the arena, Bob Caldwell of Hampton Construction reported that construction is slightly ahead of schedule and on budget. This composite image shows work inside the $179 million project. Workers started to move roof trusses (top right) into place earlier this month. This image shows how seating will be in a horseshoe configuration with the open end to the north (left). The arena will seat nearly 16,000.
