Take time to explore these locations during your free time: • International Quilt Study Center & Museum (East Campus). (Free to UNL Parents Weekend Participants during regular open hours – just use your event name badge as your pass. The Quilt Center has a drop-off area and is about a 10-minute walk from the East Campus Union.) • East Union (East Campus). See beautiful East Campus and what it has to offer (Maxwell , lovely gardens, quiet study areas, bowling, cafeteria/café, art gallery on 3rd Floor, meeting areas). • UNL Dairy Store (East Campus). Opened in 1917, the UNL Dairy Store on East Campus is a popular destination for students, faculty, staff and community members alike. They serve handmade ice creams, cheeses and meats made by UNL students in their on-site plant. Well worth the visit! (You’ll get a chance to taste some of their creamy ice cream after our closing remarks and door prize awards on Saturday afternoon. Hrs: Mon-Fri, 8am-9pm; Sat-Sun, 10am-9pm) • Larsen Tractor Test and Power Museum (East Campus). (Free during open hours; donation accepted). If you are on East Campus – this is a unique place to visit; make sure you take your camera! • Campus Recreation –newly renovated (City and East Campus) (Free to UNL Parents Weekend Participants during regular open hours – just use your event name badge as your pass) – be sure to check out the new climbing wall! Try out the exercise equipment or just tour the facilities – the choice is yours. • The Lincoln Haymarket Area – where old meets new (Downtown Lincoln). We have the “Old Haymarket” area with the train depot, antiques shop, Ivana Cone Ice Cream, etc. next to the brand new where Husker Basketball will be played and amazing concerts will be attended and visitors will enjoy new restaurants and the “Cube” television. There is a lot going on downtown – see where it all happens!

∗ 5:30-6:00 pm East Campus Reception, Nebraska East Union (The East Campus Reception is your chance to transition nicely into the weekend. We’ll remind you when it is time for dinner.)

∗ 6:00 pm Welcome Dinner, Nebraska East Union (Welcome from Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs Juan N. Franco and guest speakers. **Entertainment will be provided by UNL’s Rocktavo, an all-male student a cappella group.**)

Most families will have already arrived and checked in on Friday, but for those who need it, we will have check-in available on Saturday morning. Please dress comfortably (great day to wear your Husker gear!) and wear your walking shoes.

∗ 8:30-10:30/11:00 am Stadium Tour/Breakfast/Photos on the field, Memorial Stadium (Guests must stay with their tour group)

∗ 11:00am ~ 2:00 pm UNL Campus NightLife Football Watch Party, Stadium

∗ 2:00 - 4:00 pm Passport Program - Explore and Learn More Visit these locations to get your Passport sheet stamped (feel free to visit as many of these locations as you would like; you will gain knowledge and experience from your “travel” to these sites.):  First-Year Experiences and Transition Programs (FYETP), 127 Love Library - First-Year Experience and Transition Programs helps students transition to college and provide on-going academic support throughout their four years at UNL. FYETP provides free one-on-one academic success coaching and weekly workshops on topics such as test-taking strategies, time management, and study skills. Program staff work with all UNL students and provide support whether thinking about how to get involved on campus to moving off-campus. Staff work with students and parents to reach the goal of graduation. Take advantage of a Mini- Drop-In Session while visiting.  UCARE (Undergraduate Creative Activities and Research Experience) Program, TBA______- UCARE supports opportunities for undergraduates to participate in UNL research or creative activities while working under supervision on a one-on-one basis with a faculty advisor. Through UCARE, undergraduate researchers are introduced to the research process. As emerging scholars at UNL, undergraduates have the opportunity to learn how to be effective researchers.  Education Abroad, 127 Love Library –As “Global” becomes the new norm in all fields, Education Abroad is an exciting educational and experiential opportunity for all of our students, regardless of major. Learn a little more about the possibilities and ask your questions so you can start thinking about if this could be an option for you and what you need to consider before signing up!  Video – Love Library –Record Your Message (we will have a student Scarlet Guard member available to help. Please let that person know if you do not want the video posted to the PW2015 Facebook site.)  , 12th and R Streets. The Sheldon Museum of Art houses more than 12,000 works of art in all media, and the Sculpture Garden exhibits more than 30 monumental sculptures year-round (Hrs: W-Sat, 10am-5pm; Sun, Noon-5pm)  Center for Civic Engagement, 222 Nebraska Union. Learn more about the Certificate of Civic Engagement you can earn for your diploma, connect your academic coursework with a community-based experience such as research or public service, make a difference in a local, national or even world community while gaining knowledge and experience, participate in the Student Groups and Scholars Programs. So many benefits for the student and our communities. Be a part of something BIG.
