Bei der EM im eigenen Land hat die deutsche Mannschaft die russische Auswahl im Finale zwar nicht schlagen können, aber mit dem Ergebnis des Turniers können wir dennoch mehr als zufrieden sein – zumal unsere Akteure auf dem Platz lupenreine Amateure sind, während die Russen-Equipe aus echten Profisportlern besteht. Ob bei den Siegen gegen die Ukraine oder die mitfavorisierten Franzosen – unser Team hat sein Können deutlich aufgezeigt. Trainer Jens Matthäus und Co-Trainer Andreas Misik – selbst ehemaliger Motoball-Nationalspieler – haben intensiver und zielgerichtet trainiert und vor allem die Defensive weiter stärken können. So hat die mit 24 Jahren Durchschnittsalter noch recht junge Mannschaft ein im internationalen Vergleich mehr als positives Bild abgegeben.
