As a park cafe, we open to the public from 9am-6pm in the summer season and 9am-Spm in the off peak season. Please see note below regarding other evening opening.

We also offer "pop-up" evening supper clubs, usually on a monthly basis. The cafe is also available for private hire for evening event s. It is a conditional of t he private hire that food must be served and we would like to be able to offer a bar service to accompany this. Irrespective of the type of evening event. we would stop bar service at 11pm and close the cafe at 1 l .30pm on these occasions as we do at our other park cafe site on Wandsworth Common.

We work closely with our community stakeholder groups, namely Streatham Common Co-Operative, Friends of Streatham Common and The Streatham South Safer Neighbourhoods Team (Met Police). We will promote the four licensing objectives through our on-going staff training and supervision and indeed already conduct much of this activity as part of our day to day operation of the cafe, seven days per week. We will also incorporate the specifics of the licensing objectives in our ongoing risk management process across all the business operations at the site. Records are kept of incidents and communication with statutory authorities from the site as well as health and safety compliance and monitoring. b) The prevent ion of crime and disorder

We work closely with the Streatham Common Safer Neighbourhoods Team to promote the prevention of crime and disorder both at the cafe and on neighbouring Streatham Common. The police regularly visit and hold drop in sessions for t he public and are very visible. We have extensive security systems including CCTV inside and outside the building to both prevent and detect crime and disorder. c) Public safety
We have a full set of policies and procedures to protect public safety. These include fire, first aid and health & safety in and around the cafe. We have also considered public safety as part of our design process for the building, fixtures and fittings, equipment as well as lighting and detection systems. We have limited seating inside and maximum numbers of guests for private functions. At least two members of staff are present at the site during opening hours to assist the public. d) The prevention of public nuisance
We have restrictions in our lease with Lambeth Council about the use of music at the premises and control of litter on and around the property. There are public toilets immediately adjacent to the cafe w hich are open during cafe opening hours. There is very easy road access by the property and a car park and turning point that is away from the residential area for taxi pick-ups. There are multiple sources of public transport within easy walking distance of the cafe. We have a protocol to manage guests in the evening, such as the requirement to be inside the cafe from 1Opm to limit noise to residents. We train our staff to monitor the behaviour of guests and they will be authorised and trained to politely decline the service of alcohol to anyone deemed a potential risk of causing a public nuisance. e) The protection of children from harm
All staff are trained on age verification procedures for the sale of alcohol for which we will operate Challenge 25. The Rookery Cafe is a family cafe and we have a broad mix of customers across demographics with a very strong local community ethic which the cafe has very much benefited from since coming under our management in 2016.
