As NSS officer:

Worked as Programme officer of NSS unit of G H college Haveri for four years from 01.10.1994 to 08.09.1998. During the tenure as programme officer of NSS unit, three special camps of winter season were organized in the 3 villages of Haveri district. These 3 villages were adopted and the volunteers have contributed to the overall development of villages. Dr N R Birasal has also undergone trainings while working as NSS officer (1) Training programme on HIV / AIDS education organized by the life style education centre, Mysore University (01.10.1994 to 04.10.1994) (2) 10 days orientation for NSS programme officer organized by NSS training & orientation centre at Mysore University (10.07.1995 to 19.07.1995)

Member of Task Force: Nominated as member by the Government of Karnataka for the Environment Protection Act 1986 for conducting public inquiry in Haveri district (For 3 years from 07.03.1998)

1. 2004 - 2005: Has contributed for the success of One day workshop on ‘REVITALIZATION OF STUDENTS INTERESTS TOWARDS BASIC SCIENCES’ held on 08-01-2005

2. 2005 – 2006: Successfully conducted UGC sponsored state level seminar on ‘BIODIVERSITY AND ITS CONSERVATION’ (28.07.05 to 29.07.05). Altogether, 44 students and 100 teachers from all over the state participated in the said seminar. 49 Papers (including session lectures) were presented in the seminar. Edited the papers and the proceedings is published by the college. (Pages 198 + XIV Edited by Dr N R Birasal)

3. 2009 – 2010: Successfully organized UGC sponsored National Conference on ‘NEW HORIZONS IN INSECT PEST MANAGEMENT’ (06.03.09 to 07.03.09). Altogether, 42 researchers / students and 113 teachers from all over the country participated in the said seminar. 41 Papers were presented in the seminar. There were 23 papers for poster presentation. Edited the papers and the proceedings is published. (259 pages)

4. 2011 – 2012: Contributed for the success of 6 days REFRESHER COURSE IN BIOLOGY for the benefit of College teachers. VGST sponsored programme from 30.01.2012 to 04.02.2012
