JUNIOR SPORTS STAR TYLER PECKHAM-HARRIS – Rugby League Tyler was named Most Outstanding International Player by Gladstone Rugby League for the 2019 season and in one of the games, he kicked 7/8 conversions! He has also made Port Curtis, Central QLD Capras and the Central Crows Team. In the Junior State Championships, Tyler was an integral part of the Central team, scoring tries in both games and converting 3 goals in the final. He also travels up to Rockhampton to train for Broncos team and was asked to attend a Broncos training camp in September. He is so supportive of his team mates and loved by everyone who meets him. He is a fabulous, down-to-earth athlete and big things are in the making for this young superstar. SEBASTIAN LOWRY – Martial Arts Sebastian has been doing Jiu Jitsu for approximately 4 years. He is currently training every day and is always in competitions all over Australia. He just recently won Australian Champion for his age and weight at the Australian Jiu Jitsu Championships, held down in Melbourne in August. His dedication to his sport is amazing. He will soon be attending the Pan Pacific IBJJF Jiu-Jitsu Championships, which will be held at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatics Centre on October 26th. Sebastian was accepted by Grappling Industries to fight men above his age and weight, winning two fights in this section. The adults he was fighting were late twenties to early thirties so it was a big challenge for him. KAILA KIRKWOOD – AFL Kaila currently plays for the B.I.T.S Saints Women’s AFL team, who finished 3rd on the AFL Capricornia ladder and was named in the Under 17 Girls Capricornia Cobras Team. The Cobras travelled to Mackay in August to compete against Mackay and Townsville, against some of the most talented player’s North QLD has to offer. Kaila was also selected to represent the Port Curtis region in Long Jump and Triple Jump, she attends school, works part time and trains several times a week. Her goal is to play for the Gold Coast Suns or Brisbane Lions one day! KANE MARTIN – Surf Lifesaving and Swimming At the QLD Short Course Champs Kane placed 3rd in the 100 m Individual Medley, 200 m Backstroke and 100 m Backstroke. Then at the QLD Sprint Champs he was able to come away with a 3rd again in the 50 m Backstroke. Kane was at the 2019 QLD Youth Championships for Surf Lifesaving and competed as an individual and in the Tannum SLSC Team A. In the team events, the boys placed 2nd in the Cameron Relay and Board Relay and in the individual events Kane place 2nd in the Surf Race (swim) and made it into the Grand Final in the Ironman. IN OTHER NEWS GLADSTONE JUNIOR GOLF CLUB NEWS The 2019 CQ Golf Calendar has just finished up with the final round played at Boyne Island Tannum Sands Golf Club last weekend.

    Yeppoon 2013 Football Development Camp November 22nd, 23rd and 24th For players 11 years and over and current U16 Players only The AFL Capricornia Juniors are holding a youth football development camp for Boys and Girls to be held at the Yeppoon Active Recreation Centre, Cooee Bay, Matthew Flinders Drive, from Friday the 22nd of November to Sunday 24rd of November 2013. Cost to attend the camp will be: $150.00 (this covers all meals and accommodation at the camp plus the cost of getting our guest coach.) Once again we will be having a Guest coach from the Gold Coast Suns attending the camp to put the current bunch of youngsters through their paces on the Saturday morning. The guest coach will be taking part in the coaches seminar that afternoon. Log on to the AFL Capricornia website and have a look at the camp photos from last year’s fun and games. Attendees must be a 2013 registered player of AFL Capricornia Juniors or played football for their school and be 11 YEARS OLD and above to attend the camp. Players interested in next year’s (2014) representative football U12 & 15’s schoolboys and U14's & U16's Cyclones should attend for talent identification. We will have qualified first aid and sports trainer personnel in attendance.

We are often told by many Barefoot Bowlers that they have driven passed the bowls club for many years and did not realise what a beautiful facility we have. Our immediate neighbors are Travelodge, Restaurant 98 and the Edge. We have a great view of the Fitzroy River with the Berserker Mountains in the background. Bowling at night is magic. There is always progress going on at the Rockhampton Bowls Club. BBQs are a great feature of the Club`s income stream. Continuing with the 5 year plan our BBQ facility that has serviced the club so well of many years is now being upgraded. Work is now in progress to raise the concrete floor, raise the structure of the roof, replace the roof, and install walls Rockhampton Bowls Club Inc. Newsletter. Page 1 and ceiling.     AUSTRALIAN FOOTBALL IN QUEENSLAND A Proud and Wonderful History The Queensland Australian Football Hall of Fame has been launched in this the 150th year of the game to recognise the extraordinary contribution of players, coaches, administrators, volunteers, teams and events to the development of the game. There will be 150 inaugural inductees. They will comprise the 100 nominations for the Queensland Team of the Century, chosen in 2003, plus the five nominations for the Coach of the Century, and the Umpire of the Century. In addition, 40 people have been chosen from other parts of the football family to recognise their outstanding service and contribution, and for ability, sportsmanship, integrity, commitment and character. MORE INFORMATION WANTED This information booklet profiles briefly the inaugural 150 inductees of the Queensland Australian Football Hall of Fame. Many of the details included were kindly supplied by prominent football historian Greg Parker and the Hall of Fame inductees or their families, and for that the organizers of the function are most grateful. But the job is not done. This is an important document in Queensland Football history and will continue to grow.
