About MTEC – Who are we? MTEC Motorsport was formed in 2016 for the 2017 TRS Season. Bruin Beasley (Minda Motorsport Australia Principal) and ETEC Team manager for the 2015 and 2016 seasons joined forces with ETEC Motorsport team principal Trevor Sheumack to form a successful Australasian team with vast worldwide experience in single seater, touring and sports car racing. ETEC Motorsport had been involved in the Toyota Racing Series (TRS) series for more than ten years with success in running a number of competitive drivers including Josh Hill, son of Formula 1 World Champion Damon Hill and TRS series winner Andrew Tang. An action-packed race start saw Daniel move up to eighth after an early battle with the Red Bull of Alexander Albon, whilst Esteban was caught in a melee for the final points scoring position. As predicted, light rain was ever present during the race, but it was never heavy enough to alter proceedings. With grip levels consistently low, Daniel was the first to box with his Soft tyres wearing down rapidly forcing him to pit on lap 14 for fresh Mediums. With Daniel dropping towards the rear of the field having pitted early, Esteban - on the alternate strategy - completed 53 laps on his Medium tyres and was the last to make a first stop. By the time of his stop, Daniel, had scythed his way through the field with others stopping and was safely inside the top ten and in a battle for eighth with Sebastian Vettel. A slightly slow stop for Esteban meant he re-joined just ahead of his teammate, and despite having strong pace on the Softs for the final fifteen laps he was unable to make any major inroads on the cars ahead. Esteban crossed the finish line in eighth position, with Daniel just behind in ninth making it a double-points finish for the team.

    MORE THAN 50 RISING OPEN-WHEEL STARS FROM AROUND THE WORLD HEAD TO THE INDY F1 CIRCUIT FOR THE 2013 MAZDA ROAD TO INDY PRE-SEASON TEST Indianapolis Motor Speedway / October 9, 2012 – A Who's Who of rising open-wheel stars from around the world – more than 50 in all – are headed to the famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the second annual Chris Griffis Memorial Mazda Road to Indy Open Test, Oct. 10-11. This unique pre-season 'audition' that brings together the stars of tomorrow together with teams from the USF2000, Star Mazda Championship presented by Goodyear and Firestone Indy Lights ladder series is fast becoming the premier event for young drivers serious about advancing their motorsports careers. Several of the drivers will be taking part in the test with scholarship funding from the Mazda Road to Indy, the official driver development program of IndyCar. Included are Antti Buri, the Finnish driver who won the 2012 British Formula Ford Championship; he will receive a full test day in a USF2000 Championship car and one full day in a Star Mazda Championship car fielded by 2011 Star Mazda championship winners JDC Motorsports. Also testing with backing from the Mazda Road to Indy are top drivers from the Latam Challenge Series, a VW-based formula car series in Mexico, including series leader Francisco Cerullo (also the 2008 Venezuelan F2000 champion), Costa Rican racer André Solano (the 2009 Latam champion), and Juan Camilo Acosta of Cali, Colombia. The trio will test with Team GDT. In addition to the scholarship drivers, teams will be testing a variety of drivers hoping to become part of the Mazda Road to Indy.

Atlas F1's Craig Scarborough reviews Renault's history of technological breakthroughs, from the first turbo engine to the innovative OPT system Renault have used motorsport to demonstrate their technology for many years. While other motorsport arenas have seen Renault's participation, it has been Formula One that has seen Renault's greatest input and most influential work, dating back to 1977 with the debut of an all French team from the tyres to the fuel, from the drivers to the chassis. The eighties dawned and Renault were winning races and supplying engines to other teams. A change of heart lead the team to leave Formula One briefly, returning with a new breed of engine, the V10, at the end of that decade. Such was Renault's dominance in the nineties they left F1 once more, only to return in the new millenium with another ground breaking engine, the wide angle V10. But this time as a full manufacturer, allowing Renault to demonstrate their undersung chassis technology as well as their engines. For nearly 30 years, Renault has used F1 as a platform to learn technology and show the world how it applies that technology. Before F1 Pre dating their involvement with Formula One, Renault had a motorsport history throughout the first half of the century dating right back to the Renault brothers original business in 1899.
