The Ten Doctors: A Graphic Novel by Rich Morris Chapter 5 102 Rich's Notes: Since the Daleks are struggling to destroy eachother as well as their attackers, the advantage goes to the Federation forces. Things are going well and the 5th Doctor checks in with the 3rd to see how the battle is playing out. The 3rd Doctor confirms that all is well so far, but then gets a new set of signals. A massive fleet of Sontaran ships unexpectedly comes out of nowhere, an the Sontaran reveal a plot to eliminate the Daleks, the Federation fleet AND the Time Lords! The Ten Doctors: A Graphic Novel by Rich Morris Chapter 5 103 Rich's Notes: The 3rd Doctor is restrained by the Sontarans before he can warn the fleet. The 5th Doctor tries as well, but the Master has jammed his signal. The Master explains how he plans to use his new, augmented Sontarans to take over the universe. But he keeps them guessing as he plays with their tin-heads. The Ten Doctors: A Graphic Novel by Rich Morris Chapter 5 111 Rich's Notes: The 9th Doctor rescues Rose and Ace, then gets Drax to help him carry Tegan and Peri, unconscious because of their sudden release from Cyber mind control, to the TARDIS. Ace admires Drax’s choice of TARDIS exteriors and the Doctor gets cheerfully exasperated by his crew. The Ten Doctors: A Graphic Novel by Rich Morris Chapter 5 112 Rich's Notes: The 8th Doctor and Leela sneak back into the Citadel to find out what’s been going on with Andred and her children, and also to get to the bottom of the whole Valeyard/Keeper of the Matrix issue. Meanwhile, Maxil is revived for a special mission! The Ten Doctors: A Graphic Novel by Rich Morris Chapter 5 113 Rich's Notes: The 6th Doctor wakes up on the Dalek ship, having been knocked about by explosions and the 4th Doctor’s accident. He discovers that the 4th Doctor was probably killed in the air ducts and didn’t escape, and so alters his plan to deal with the Daleks believing that he too will die when the 4th Doctor’s time line catches up with him. After a telling and tense moment, the Supreme Dalek relents. For now. The Supreme Dalek gets totally confused by the appearance of a second Keeper of the Matrix, and while he tries desperately to sort out the logical problem in his brain, the Sontarans attack. I’m sure at least some of you readers feel like the Supreme Dalek here. Disabling his maneuvering thrusters and his weapons. That does, however, leave him vulnerable to a booster rocket blast directly into Earth’s atmosphere which would leave him in freefall and a very messy impact. Just when the Master is about to revel in his old enemy’s death, however, Nyssa and Mel show up, and the Master decides to kill them first. Just for fun. The Master attacks them, but they manage to zip out of the way of the laser cannons at the last instant! Nyssa and the Master engage in a bit of cat-and-mouse, until she turns the tables on him. Releasing one of her ship’s many thrusters, it slams into the Master’s fighter and destroys it. Nyssa finally gets revenge on the man who killed her father and her whole planet. The Ten Doctors: A Graphic Novel by Rich Morris Chapter 5 120 Rich's Notes: Having destroyed the Master’s ship, Nyssa heads back to check on the 5th Doctor, who has accidently sent himself on a collision course with the Earth. The Ten Doctors: A Graphic Novel by Rich Morris Chapter 5 121 Rich's Notes: The 1st Doctor manages to delay his crash into the dying sun of Proammon and uses his bought time to try to contact another of his selves to come and help him escape. The 2nd Doctor, already open for telepathic contact, picks up the signal and decides that an extreme situation requires an extreme solution. He decides he has to project another self. The Ten Doctors: A Graphic Novel by Rich Morris Chapter 5 122 Rich's Notes: The 2nd Doctor explains to Glitz about future self projections while conjuring up assistance. He first projects a “Watcher” a faceless transitory stage in the midst of the energy burst of regeneration. He changes it to a blend of incarnations 2 and 3. Sadly, he doesn’t seem to get along with this one either. The transitory incarnation 2.5 you see here was inspired by the (as yet unfinished) fanfilm, Devious starring Tony Garner playing the Two-and-a-halfth incarnation. The reason being that he just happens to bear an uncanny resemblance to both Patrick Troughton AND Jon Pertwee. While this, of course, is no more “canon” than any other fanfilm in my eyes, I just love the look of this guy, am amazed by the resemblances, and hey, they shot a regeneration completion into the 3rd Doctor WITH JON PERTWEE! His appearance in “The 10 Doctors” neither acknowledges the “Devious” storyline nor contradicts it. I just figured, man, this guy looks great and he got a chance to act with Jon Pertwee, I’m going to give him a chance to appear with Patrick Troughton, just ’cause I can. The Ten Doctors: A Graphic Novel by Rich Morris Chapter 5 123 Rich's Notes: The Supreme Dalek’s flagship goes out of control and plummets into Earth’s atmosphere, pursued by a Sontaran battlecruiser intent on its destruction. A well placed shot cuts off the 6th Doctor’s attempt to find a way to repair the damaged conduit that will restore control to the Dalek ship. It also blasts open part of the hull from which the ship spews out pieces of broken superstructure, pipes, metal tiles… and the 4th Doctor! The Ten Doctors: A Graphic Novel by Rich Morris Chapter 5 124 Rich's Notes: The Supreme Dalek’s flagship goes out of control and plummets into Earth’s atmosphere, pursued by a Sontaran battlecruiser intent on its destruction.

Police Constable Donald Seagrave was in a jovial mood. The sun was shining, the bicycle was performing perfectly since its overhaul last Saturday afternoon, and now that the water-main flooding in Burney Street was repaired he was on his way home for tea, if that was all right with the Super. It seemed to be a bad line. Seagrave could hear his Superintendent at the far end saying, 'Speak up . Who's that . .?', but there was this whirring noise, and then a sort of chuffing and groaning . The baffled constable looked into the telephone, and then banged it on his helmet to try to improve the connection.

    2019 Gally Academic Track Friday, February 15, 2019 3:00-3:15 KEYNOTE “The Fandom Hierarchy: Women of Color’s Fight For Visibility In Fandom Spaces” Tai Gooden Women of Color (WoC) have been fervent Doctor Who fans for several decades. However, the fandom often reflects societal hierarchies upheld by White privilege that result in ignoring and diminishing WoC’s opinions, contributions, and legitimate concerns about issues in terms of representation. Additionally, WoC and non-binary (NB) people of color’s voices are not centered as often in journalism, podcasting, and media formats nor convention panels as much as their White counterparts. This noticeable disparity has led to many WoC, even those who are deemed “important” in fandom spaces, to encounter racism, sexism, and, depending on the individual, homophobia and transphobia in a place that is supposed to have open availability to everyone. I can attest to this experience as someone who has a somewhat heightened level of visibility in fandom as a pop culture/entertainment writer who extensively covers Doctor Who. This presentation will examine women of color in the Doctor Who fandom in terms of their interactions with non-POC fans and difficulties obtaining opportunities in media, online, and at conventions. The show’s representation of fandom and the necessity for equity versus equality will also be discussed to craft a better understanding of how to tackle this pervasive issue. Other actionable solutions to encourage intersectionality in the fandom will be discussed including privileged people listening to WoC and non- binary people’s concerns/suggestions, respectfully interacting with them online and in person, recognizing and utilizing their privilege to encourage more inclusivity, standing in solidarity with them on critical issues, and lending their support to WoC creatives.

This led them to an absorption with the Jewish creation myths in Genesis, which they obsessively reinterpreted to formulate allegorical explanations of how humans ended up trapped in the world of matter. The basic Gnostic story, which varied in details from teacher to teacher, was this: In the beginning there was an unknowable, immaterial, and invisible God, sometimes called the Father of All and sometimes by other names. “He” was neither male nor female, and was composed of an implicitly finite amount of a living nonphysical substance. Surrounding this God was a great empty region called the Pleroma (the fullness). Beyond the Pleroma lay empty space. The God acted to fill the Pleroma through a series of emanations, a squeezing off of small portions of his/its nonphysical energetic divine material. In most accounts there are thirty emanations in fifteen complementary pairs, each getting slightly less of the divine material and therefore being slightly weaker. The emanations are called Aeons (eternities) and are mostly named personifications in Greek of abstract ideas.

Ive got to say they can keep augmenting the cybermen as much as they like but they still dont look as good as the classic variations…. The old ones were best but the last design was ok. Cannot understand why change. The cybermen were just blend in my opinion. These new designs actually remind me of the classic series cybermen.

    Sociopathetic abscess or yawning chasm? The absent postcolonial transition in Doctor Who Lindy A Orthia The Australian National University, Canberra, Australia Abstract This paper explores discourses of colonialism, cosmopolitanism and postcolonialism in the long-running television series, Doctor Who. Doctor Who has frequently explored past colonial scenarios and has depicted cosmopolitan futures as multiracial and queer- positive, constructing a teleological model of human history. Yet postcolonial transition stages between the overthrow of colonialism and the instatement of cosmopolitan polities have received little attention within the program. This apparent ‘yawning chasm’ — this inability to acknowledge the material realities of an inequitable postcolonial world shaped by exploitative trade practices, diasporic trauma and racist discrimination — is whitewashed by the representation of past, present and future humanity as unchangingly diverse; literally fixed in happy demographic variety. Harmonious cosmopolitanism is thus presented as a non-negotiable fact of human inevitability, casting instances of racist oppression as unnatural blips. Under this construction, the postcolonial transition needs no explication, because to throw off colonialism’s chains is merely to revert to a more natural state of humanness, that is, cosmopolitanism. Only a few Doctor Who stories break with this model to deal with the ‘sociopathetic abscess’ that is real life postcolonial modernity.
