After the Second World War, the heavily bombed city picked itself up, literally and figuratively, and built up a new existence with passion and its well-known work-hard-play-hard attitude. And this was also what Pieter Bey motivated to realise his dream, simply from his own home: establishing a sports brand. He combined the first two letters of his beloved Rotterdam with his last name and created the brand name Ro-bey. Decades later, the brand has become a leading name with Dutch sports clubs and athletes. During the 1960s, 70s and 80s, most of the professional athletes and recreational sports enthusiasts in the Netherlands wore sports clothing made by Robey, including the national football team. In 2012, the brand got a new life with the same passion and positive attitude as Pieter Bey demonstrated in 1947. Robey’s goal is not to be the greatest brand. During its rich history, the club has been playing the Dutch premier league for over 50 years and was national champion three times.
