This briefing paper sits alongside the Scottish FA podcast on The Value of Scottish Football produced in partnership with Grant Jarvie1 from the University of Edinburgh. The briefing explains why football is a real asset to Scotland. Those who know football will recognise a lot of this and the real challenge is to make a convincing case to those who don’t know or maybe skeptical about the value of football to Scotland. Scottish football may not be as rich as the big five European leagues but revenue generation over the last five years has been increasing2. In 2014/15 Scottish Premiership revenue was about £103 million.

COver 2,800 donors gave almost $360,000 to the Foundation’s Christmas Angel Campaign for seven new automated medication cabinets needed throughout the Medicine, Surgery and Psychiatry Nursing Units at the Hospital. “My sincere thanks to everyone who supported the campaign,” said Torben Hawksbridge, Foundation Chair. “Donations are critical to having the best possible care available here.” Medications play a key role in the treatment and recovery of many patients. Every day the Hospital’s Pharmacy prepares over 1,000 medication orders. Ensuring each patient gets the right drug, at the right time, in the right dose, is a complex task involving doctors, pharmacy staff and nurses. “The new automated cabinets store up to 300 different medications and are integrated into Grey Bruce Health Services’ inside electronic patient records and Pharmacy Information System,” Registered Nurses Casey McMillan, left, and Megan Lawes working How you helped your said Dr. Brendan Mulroy, former Chief of Staff. Cup and this year's tournament has pro­ duced its own version of the Cham­ pions League The fact that all the semi-finalists are the currenfholders of their respective region's league crown is a real bonus . Last season Tayport won the Tayside League , their opponents Auchinleck were Ayrshire Champions , while Pollok of the Central League and Camelon from the East were also their regions top teams . Throw in the fact that Camelon are the holders of the O.V.D Cup and you have a truly intriguing semi-final combination and should guaran­ tee that both games will be very exciting. I am sure the ties will be a tremendous advert for the junior game . Playing the two semi-finals on separate days means neutral fans can go to both games and although some people would prefer to play on a Sati.Jrdayafternoon , it does give the clubs to play on the bigger stage of a senior ground . None of the four semi-finalists are new to the occasion and we are on familiar ground as far as the two venues are concerned with Fir Park having staged last years final whilst Love Street has regularly housed semi-finals in recent years . For Auchinleck such occasions have been with the exception of last year almost annual entries in their diaries.
