Formed in 1886, the ‘Field’ hark from Possilpark in the north of Glasgow and have fierce rivalries with near neighbours Glasgow Perthshire as well as Petershill from Springburn and St Roch’s who are based at Garngad. Four times winners of the Scottish Junior Cup, Ashfield’s colours of black and white hoops and black shorts are as renowned as any within Glasgow’s junior football scene. ALBION ROVERS (1961) It is the end of an era for this fine old Lanarkshire club as they depart from their traditional blue jerseys and opt for a completely new look. The new shirts are yellow in colour with a red badge and white sleeves. We think the bright new colours will be a hit with the supporters for generations to come. The ‘Wee Rovers’ were formed in Coatbridge in 1882 and have been based at their current home of Cliftonhill Park since 1919. The previous season in Division Two proved to be a tough one but we know that Rovers have the grit and the resolve to enjoy a campaign as bright as their fantastic new kit! ARBROATH (1961) With memories of the 1959 League Cup semi-final still relatively fresh, Arbroath are fielding a strong team this year for their Second Division campaign. Managed by John Prentice, the ‘Red Lichties’ have drafted in defender Harry Glasgow (back row 1st left) on loan from Falkirk to help bolster the defence. Local lads Allan Kennedy and Ian Stirling (back row 2nd and 1st from the right) will pose a serious goal threat and the uncompromising presence of Jim Fraser (front row, centre) will provide the steel and resolve that is always necessary for a successful campaign. Each of these players have won the League Cup and scored in the final. Their initials are provided. How many can you get? QUIZ Hints are provided below with answers at the end! 1. D___ M_______ 2.
