Material Required: LC3600 Resin LC3600 Hardener Fibreflock

Procedure: 1. It would be advisable at this time to install the forward Cable Clamp. You will notice a mounting block for the cable clamp, located on the right hand side, which has been pre-installed at the factory. The holes have also been pre-drilled.

Photo’s show the Elevator Cable Mounting Plate (left) and the Elevator Cable and Clamp installed. (right). *1 CAUTION: Ensure elevator cable clamp is secure in the groove

2. Ensure Bush Control Column (2) fit factory pre-drilled holes in Lower Main Beam, and also the Aileron Cable Geometry Plate.

Picture shows the Geometry Plate Pre-assembled. The Aileron Cable Brackets can be permanently installed now, but note Bush and Plate Aileron Control are only temporarily fitted.

3. Align the top and outer edge of the Aileron Cable Bracket with the Geometry Plate and drill the mounting holes.(3/16). The Brackets can now be attached to the Plate using 5 minute araldite and rivets with backing washers (see photo).

Align these two edges

4. Once you are happy with the fitment, remove the Control Column Bush and Plate Aileron Control and trial fit the Geometry Plate into place by cutting a slot into the Seat Back Support. (see photos).Use the Control Column Bush as a position guide while fitting.

5. The Geometry Plate and Control Column Bushes can now be permanently installed in position using epoxy mixed with flock. It’s a good idea to attach the Aileron Output Yoke (3100084) to the back of the Horizontal Shaft (3AO26BOD) and use as a jig for the alignment. Attach the Centre Stick Pivot Plate (3A026EOD) on the front so now you should have an assembled control shaft to set up the end float. Now take assembly apart.

6. Mix resin/hardener/fibreflock & apply to the control bushes. It is also necessary to apply a bed of flock beneath the Geometry Plate to fill any voids that may be present. Slide bush on one end of the shaft then put through the centre consol & put the other nylon bush then the procedure in step 5. Note: Wax or lightly grease horizontal tube to prevent bonding to bushes by excess resin/flock.

7. Smooth off flock using your brush with Epoxy resin and allow to cure. Note: Resin/Flock can be given a smooth finish by wetting and smoothing with a mixing stick dipped in resin. When mixing flock it is a good practice to keep some resin aside for this purpose. 8. Remove horizontal tube from bushes after resin has cured. 9. Clean, Lubricate and reinstall horizontal tube. 10. Assemble control handle as per drawing 3AO26AOD-2 and Photo. 11. When Elevator has been fitted & connected to cable on both ends, determine the up & down elevator travels by adjusting the rod ends. Use the supplied rigging templates to check the Elevator is achieving full travel.

The two bolts can be used to hold the assembly in position while the flock is curing.( These bolts will not only attach the Aileron Plate, but later on be used to mount the lower seatbelt brackets. )

Note: The Longer slot must face forward on the column assembly to allow full forward travel.
