Qualche tempo fa, su facebook, ho postato una foto rappresentante una tipica maschera della Sardegna, di Mamoiada per la precisione, una maschera conosciuta col nome di "Mamuthone". Skender ha commentato quella foto, facendomi notare che anche da loro vi erano delle maschere molto simili. Così, per caso, è nata una amicizia e una collaborazione basata sulla comune passione per l'antico e sulla ricerca di un nuovo modo di leggere la storia antica. Quanto ha influito la lingua Albanese sulle lingue oggigiorno in uso in Europa? Quante parole, toponimi e nomi di persona riprendono vita e significato se interpretate con l'uso della antica lingua Albanese e dei suoi ancor più particolari dialetti? Domande cui solo in parte si è data risposta. Domande spesso ignorate dagli studiosi delle lingue europee ma che nel libro di Skender Hushi, "Antichi Nomi greco-romano-illirici nel mondo (e loro significato in Albanese)", trovano risposte e aprono nuovi interrogativi! Leggendo le prime pagine mi sono imbattuto in curiosità che meritano di essere approfondite e studiate. Per fare un esempio per tutti, la parola "Egiziano", E-giz-ian, e-gjis-jane, secondo Skender assume il significato di: “sono parte della nostra famiglia“. Se si pensa a quali siano stati i rapporti tra gli Egizi antichi e tutti i popoli 6 del mediterraneo, che si recavano in Egitto per studiare e apprendere i misteri delle antichità, ciò assume un particolare significato. Così, pagina dopo pagina, mi sono reso conto di quale enorme patrimonio linguistico sia ancora esistente a pochi chilometri da noi italiani, dall'altra parte dell'Adriatico... in Albania. Nomi di persona trovano finalmente un senso a riprova della antichità della lingua Albanese che, secondo Skender, è ciò che resta di una lingua molto antica, la lingua di un popolo scomparso da tempo ma presente nelle leggende e nei dialoghi più interessanti e misteriosi di Platone, il Timeo e il Crizia: la lingua del popolo di Atlantide. Che dire ancora? In bocca al lupo Skender, a te e al tuo popolo e alla tua lingua, così particolare e così antica... e chissà se, un giorno, anch‟ io riuscirò ad capirla e apprezzarla." 7 PREMESSA Durante le ricerche in lingua italiana, per la pubblicazione del mio primo libro " Thot immortale rivela Atlantide" mi sono imbattuto in nomi antichi che, suddivisi in sillabe, assumevano un particolare significato nella lingua parlata oggi in Albania. Secondo molti autori albanesi e stranieri l‟Europa, il Nord Africa, il Medio Oriente e l‟India, in antichità, sono stati abitati e guidati dalla popolazione pelasga, quindi atlantidease-pelazgo-ilirico- albana, e penso che la maggior parte dei nomi siano di origine atlantidea e siano spiegabili utilizzando la lingua albanese di oggi. Io insisto sul fatto che l‟albanese sia il diretto successore della lingua di Atlantide e sia alla base di tutte le lingue europee, per questo motivo dovrebbe essere studiata seriamente dagli studiosi di tutto il mondo. I nomi dei bambini, nella popolazione ariana, erano come un titolo per il bambino, che l‟avrebbe portato con orgoglio per tutta la sua vita. Il nome doveva essere comprensibile da tutti, come: Rroks-ana (prende la Luna), Far-uk (razza di lupo, forte come un lupo), Ah-met (forte come la quercia), Die-nis (sapienza che parte), A-nd're (è sulle nuvole), A-dil (è Sole), As-an, Hasan (è luna) ecc. Nell'antichità non era importante che i nomi maschili finissero per forza in consonante o vocale "o" e i nomi femminili finissero per forza in vocale “e”, oppure “a”. Se aveva un significato, il nome poteva finire con qualsiasi lettera, per esempio: Thot l‟ultimo re di Atlantide, oppure Mat, sua moglie. Andre, Isa, Ilia, Thoma, Luca, sono nomi maschili. Olimpi, Aniki, Nikita, Costa sono nomi sia femminili che maschili. Afro, Haso, ecc, sono nomi 8 femminili. Oggi non si da tanta importanza al significato del nome, basta che sia melodioso, anche se senza senso. Spesso ho sentito di persone che vogliono cambiare il proprio nome, perché si vergognano di quello che hanno. Tanti studiosi albanesi e di altri paesi dicono che l‟origine dell‟ Europa sia “pelasga”, cosa che ho ripetuto nei miei libri, però, mentre scrivo questo quarto libro e continuo a studiare alla ricerca delle origini del nostro popolo e dell‟Europa, penso che tale espressione dovrebbe essere cambiata in: “l‟Europa ha radici atlantideo-ariano-albana”, questo perché con il nome “Albani” erano conosciuti nell'antichità tutti i bianchi d‟Europa e del Mondo, che parlavano albanese. Ho incontrato, e incontro spesso, diverse persone che parlano albanese, in Italia e in altri paesi europei. Quando chiedo se sono albanesi, rispondono: No! Hanno ragione perché hanno il loro orgoglio nazionale, perché sono stati e sono autoctoni nelle loro terre, quindi ti rispondono: - "Io sono arberesh, io sono macedone, sono arvanito, sono croato, sono bosniaco, sono serbo" ecc e hanno ragione, perché sono stati lì generazione dopo generazione. Ma ci sono anche quelli che hanno dichiarato di essere albanesi o shkipëtarë (albanesi). Anche i popoli più antichi d'Europa hanno parlato albanese, ma nonostante ciò non si possono chiamare tutti albanesi. Sarebbe giusto definirli albani o ariani. La parola "Ariano" , secondo la mia opinione, è più corretta per i nostri antenati dell'antichità, per il loro carattere, la condotta e le virtù dell'oro che avevano. Dopo aver studiato le "Tavole di Smeraldo di Thot”, vediamo che l'Europa è stata un tempo, una nazione unica con centro l‟Atlantide, che dominava su tutto il mondo antico, dal continente americano fino in 9 Giappone, e che aveva un unica lingua, la lingua dell‟ Atlantide, che oggi è conservata molto bene dai popoli albanofoni in tutto il mondo e dai baschi e uidiss (tra Estonia e Lituania), che per errore viene chiamato popolo ebreo. Pellasgët, i Pelas-gii (seno di cavalla) li accetto come nostri diretti antenati, senza nessun alcun dubbio. La stessa penisola Balcanica assomiglia al seno di una cavalla. Loro erano confinanti con gli albanofoni dell‟ Amazzonia, con l‟Asia Minore, con l‟Europa centrale, settentrionale, meridionale, orientale e occidentale, col Nord Africa, il Mediterraneo, l‟Italia, l‟Asia, l‟India ecc, che parlavano albanese, ma non erano conosciuti come Pelasgii o Illiri, ma con altri nomi spiegati facilmente dalla lingua albanese d‟oggi, come gli Etruschi = è con cervello, Japigi: Ja-pi- gji = allattate al seno, che doveva avere il significato: siete i benvenuti nel loro paese e nelle loro famiglie. Fri-gii, dove le pecore hanno il seno gonfio, e producevano tanto latte. Ama- zonia (Madre-signora), Kelti, scritta in italiano:-Çeltik, cel-ti-ik, in albanese significa: da biondi tu vai. Il nome della vecchia India, nel dialetto gega dell‟ Albania, si spiega come Hin-ti, cioè: entra tu. Il nome Damasco, in albanese Damasko, dam-as-ko, vuol dire: è nato qui.

December 8, 2019 – 25th Sunday after Pentecost Venerable Patapius of Thebes Saint Patapius was born at Thebes into a pious Christian family. Reaching the age of maturity, he scorned the vanities of the world and so went into the Egyptian desert where he became known for his ascetic deeds. Though he wished to dwell in silence, people began to come to him for advice. He went eventually to Constantinople, where he obtained a cell at the city wall, near the Blachernae church. But here, too, he quickly became known. The sick began to throng about, and he, having been vouchsafed the gift of healing, began to help all the needy. There was a youth who was possessed by a terrible demon. At times, the demon tore at the young man's garments, leaving him totally naked; on other occasions, the youth was cast over precipices and into ditches. He was also thrown into water, where he was in serious danger of drowning. As the youth was walking on the road one day, the demon seized him and was about to cast him into the sea.

I hope that you will allow me, as you did once before in answering some rather ill-conceived reactions by one of your readers to Archbishop Chry- sostomos’ comments on Jewish traditions (“Menstruation, Emissions, and http://www.orthodoxinfo.com. - - Holy Communion”), to respond to your recent posting about the ecclesiology of resistance. The article by Monk Basil of the Gregoriou Monastery on Mt. Athos, which you reproduce and extensively introduce in this posting (rather awk- wardly translated and entitled “Anti-Patristic: The Stance of the Zealot Old Calendarists”) is well known to us. Inchoate, polemical, insulting, bereft of any real scholarly substance, drawing half-truths from the misuse of historical and Patristic texts, and posturing as a Patristic commentary, it does little to address the real issues of so-called Old Calendarist zealotry. In his observations, which are basically a response to an earlier article (written in 1999) by Father Nicholas Demaras on the ecclesiology of resistance (criti- cizing the Gregoriou Monastery for not walling itself off from the Orthodox ecumenists), Father Basil (a former “zealot” who, I am told but have not confirmed, is now an Archimandrite in Crete) comes to sweepingly broad conclusions drawn from difficult canonical, historical, and Patristic texts that he presents in a naive and, of course, self-serving way, grinding his axe on a soft stone.

From welcoming new families in August, celebrating the lives of the saints in November, sending 11,800 meals to children in Swaziland during Catholic Schools Week, walking with Christ during His final hours as our 8th Graders lead the Living Stations in the spring, celebrating First Holy Eucharist with our 2nd Graders, and graduating 47 wonderful young men and women in May, we are grateful for the learning, loving, and laughter of each day. I am delighted to share our 2017-2018 Annual Report with you. We began our school year with 100% participation in the Annual Fund from our Faculty and Staff and ended the year with 100% parent participation for the third consecutive year! Your generosity and continued financial support make much possible for so many. Thank you! Our wonderful volunteers continue to bring to reality the plans and ideas for all to enjoy. There he devoted himself to a life of asceticism, cleansing his heart of all earthly desires and thoughts for the sake of God’s love. When his virtues became known among the people, however, they came to him for solace in their sufferings. Fearing the praise of men, which darkens the minds and separates them from God, Patapios fled this wilderness to Constantinople, thinking he could hide himself more easily in a big city, but a light cannot be hidden. A child, blind from birth, was led by God’s providence to Patapios. He besought the saint to pray to God that he be given his sight to look upon God’s creation and praise Him all the more. Patapios, having compassion on the suffering child, prayed to God, and the child’s sight was restored.

    Index to the Mortuary Files of Valente, Marini, Perata & Co 3448 Mission Street, San Francisco Mortuary Books are located in the Colma Historical Museum 1500 Hillside Blvd, Colma Index by The San Mateo County Genealogical Society (Lauren Perritt, Russ & Eunice Brabec, Jean Ann Carroll, Cath Trindle) This is a work in progress the records to be indexed cover the years the years 1888-1964 Some books are numbered the early ones are titled only by the years they cover. For ease of indexing we have given them a letter designation. The books included in this first installment include: Notes: Date given is death date if know, otherwise it might be burial date, date plot was purchased or date at the top of the page. In the case of removals from one cemtery to another the date is given in the notes column to avoid confusion over death dates. In the case of stillbirths and infants, the name given might be that of a parent, the records were often not clear. Remember, this is an index not an extraction, the actual record is likely to contain additional information, including who is responsible for payment, some societies the individual belonged to, names of newspapers where notices were places, and in some journals prior to 1920 obituaries might be attached. There is some duplication in the records, some of the Journal were most likely copied to the later books. We chose to include both because these were the years that might also have attached obituaries. When requesting a copy from the Colma Historical Society, be sure to copy the book volume and page number carefully.
