3.11 Rule introduction August 1st 2018

3.11 Performance Appaloosa Registry PA

The Performance Appaloosa Registry is introduced to register those that are not eligible to be accepted for Adult or BR registration.

SECTION 1

For a to be considered for the Performance Appaloosa Registry it must: a) Be a mare or a . b) Have a minimum of 25% proven Appaloosa Linage c) Prove parentage to one Australian Appaloosa Association registered Appaloosa. d) Complete a HERDA, HYPP test that will be conducted by an organisation approved by the Australian Appaloosa Association. e) Have DNA on file with the Australian Appaloosa Association.

A horse will NOT be considered for the Performance Appaloosa Registry if: a) The horse returns an Afflicted (Hr/Hr) result to HERDA. b) The horse returns a positive (N/H) result to HYPP. c) The horse has pedigree to, or markings or conditions characteristic of a Paint, Pinto, , Heavy Draughts or Bred. d) The horse has white markings above the line drawn in Diagram Rule 3.13. e) It has not reached 14hh at the age of 4 years. f) It is the result of cloning.

All horses accepted into the Performance Appaloosa Registry will: a) Receive a PA number for coloured Appaloosa horses and PAS for solid Appaloosas horses. b) Only have the one qualifying parent name appear on the registration certification. c) Be eligible to compete in performance classes only (led /Ridden and Performance after reaching requirements in Rule 6.6) this notation will appear on registration papers. d) Not be eligible to compete in closed Appaloosa Halter Classes. e) Will never be eligible for upgrading out of this Registration Category.

Progeny, out of Performance Appaloosa Registered mares PA or PAS will only be considered for the Performance Appaloosa Registry if;

a) The PA mare has been bred to an AAA registered Appaloosa Stallion. b) The PAS mare has been bred to an AAA adult registered coloured Appaloosa Stallion. c) They meet all other requirements in this rule

Note; No possibility of any progeny ever upgrading to adult or BR in AAA Stud Book.

3.11 Performance Appaloosa Registry

SECTION 2

For a COLOURED GELDING of unknown/unknown breeding to be considered for the Performance Appaloosa Registry PAG it must fit following criteria;

a) A coloured gelding. b) These horses from a distance of 4.5 meters (15’) must show Appaloosa Coat Markings so as to be easily recognised as an Appaloosa and must have either parti-coloured skin or white sclera. c) Complete a HYPP test that will be conducted by an organisation approved by the Australian Appaloosa Association d) Have DNA on file with Australian Appaloosa Association.

Unknown gelding will NOT be considered for the Performance Appaloosa Registry if:

a) Does not show appaloosa coat pattern as list above. b) The horse returns a positive (N/H) result to HYPP. c) Markings or conditions characteristic of a Paint, Pinto, Standardbred, Heavy Draughts or Pony Bred. d) The horse has white markings above the line drawn in Diagram Rule 3.13. e) It has not reached 14hh at the age of 4 years.

Upon acceptance ;

a) These horses will be registered in the Performance Appaloosa Registry .

b). These horses will be allotted a PAG number.

c) Have unknown parentage of both Sire and Dam on registration papers.

d) Be eligible to compete in performance classes only (led /Ridden and Performance Halter only after reaching requirements in Rule 6.6) this notation on papers.

e) The gelding is not eligible to show in closed Appaloosa Halter classes.

f) Will never be eligible for upgrading out of this registration category.

Note; Unknown/unknown appaloosa registered with AAA LTD before August 1st 2018 retain their registration and showing rights.
