Hall of Dear Friends, One of my favorite Scripture passages is Paul’s letter to the Fame Hebrews where he uses the image of “running the race.” Eugene Peterson’s contemporary translation captures the image in contemporary language. He says: “With all these pioneers cheering us on, we’d better get on with it.” “Keep your eyes fixed on who began and finished the race we’re in—study how he did it.” “He never lost sight of where he was headed—what- ever.” “When you find yourselves flagging, go over his story again—that will shoot adrenaline into your souls.”
