Résumé : Les études de phylogénie moléculaire sur les Lépidoptères Rhopalocères et Zygènes sont de plus en plus nombreuses ces dernières années modifiant la systématique et la taxinomie de ces deux groupes. Une mise à jour complète est réalisée dans ce travail. Un cadre décisionnel a été élaboré pour les niveaux spécifiques et infra-spécifique avec une approche intégrative de la taxinomie. Ce cadre intégre notamment un aspect biogéographique en tenant compte des zones-refuges potentielles pour les espèces au cours du dernier maximum glaciaire. Cette démarche permet d’avoir une approche homogène pour le classement des taxa aux niveaux spécifiques et infra-spécifiques. Les conséquences pour l’acquisition des données dans le cadre d’un inventaire national sont développées. Summary : Studies on molecular phylogenies of Butterflies and Burnets have been increasingly frequent in the recent years, changing the systematics and taxonomy of these two groups. A full update has been performed in this work. -

Report under the Article 17 of the Habitats Directive European Environment Period 2007-2012 Agency European Topic Centre on Biological Diversity Hyles hippophaes Annex IV Priority No Species group Arthropods Regions Alpine, Black Sea, Continental, Mediterranean, Steppic The seathorn hawk-moth (Hyles hippophaes) is a species of moth which is found in nearly all countries in between Spain and France on the one side and China on the other side. This species occurs in three different geographical regions. In the Continental, Black Sea and Mediterranean bioregion the status has been assessed as ‘unknown’ due to a lack of data from France, Italy, Greece and Bulgaria. In the Alpine and Steppic bioregion its status has been assessed as unfavourable-inadequate (improving from unfavourable-bad and Romania - new country and new bioregion). A huge lack of data from the three countries makes a proper assessment of this species’ status hardly possible. The same accounts for the IUCN which has labeled this species’ conservation status with ‘Data Deficient’. BioRisk 13: 31–52. https://doi.org/10.3897/biorisk.13.20688 Abstract In the environmental risk assessment (ERA) of genetically modified plants (GMP), the consideration of the different environments where genetically modified plants (GMP) will be commercially grown (the receiving environments) plays a crucial role. In addition, relevant protection goals which may be adversely affected by the GMP have to be considered during the ERA. Using a literature- and GIS-based approach, distribution data of protected lepidopteran species listed in Council Directive 92/43/EEC and of maize cultivation was used in order to evaluate potential spatial overlaps between GM maize and protected non- target Lepidoptera in different biogeographical regions (BGR) of the EU. Each BGR has its peculiarity regarding maize cultivation and the distribution of protected butterflies. The lepidopteran fauna of the Pannonian BGR is particularly sensitive due to large maize cultivation shares and wide distribution of protected butterflies within this BGR. -

K. (2016) Zoological Scripta, 00, 000-000. Three high elevation Hyles species of Central Asia have proven difficult to sample and thus only a limited number of specimens are available for study. Ancient DNA techniques were applied to sequence two mitochondrial genes from ‘historic’ museum specimens of H. gallii, H. renneri and H. salangensis to elucidate the phylogenetic relationships of these species. This approach enabled us to include the holotypes and/or allotypes and paratypes. The status of H. salangensis as a species endemic to a mountain range north of Kabul in Afghanistan is confirmed by this study. It is most closely related to H. nicaea and H. gallii, and quite distant from the clade comprising the species from H. -

Introduction Sphingidae are one of the few lepidopteran groups to have been well inventoried and documented on every continent. To date, more than 1,400 species have been described all over the world(K AWAHARA & all. 2009). Out of 1,000, 72 species are distributed in western Palaearctic region (PITTAWAY 1993), 30 species of hawk months have been recorded in Georgia and neighbouring countries (DIDMANIDZE & all. 2013). Twenty- six out of the aforementioned 72 species have been found in Armenia so far. The subfamilies Sphinginae, Smerinthinae and Macroglossinae consist of 4, 5, and 17 species respectively.Two species Hyles hippophanes and Proserpinus proserpina are listed in the Red Book of Animals of the Republic of Armenia (AGHASYAN & KALASHYAN 2010). -

Opening of the meeting by a representative of the Secretary General of the Council of Europe Mr Fernandez-Galiano, from the Secretariat, welcomed participants (see Appendix 1) and recalled that the Group was to develop its work within the programme of the Convention on the Conservation of European Wildlife and Natural Habitats (Bern Convention). This implied that decisions on future activities had to be reported to the Standing Committee of the Convention for final adoption. He thanked the European Invertebrate Survey (EIS) for its suggestion for launching a group on invertebrate conservation within the Bern Convention (see document T-PVS (89) 34 revised). At the request of some delegates, the Secretariat explained the differences between the work to be developed by the Group and other activities in the field of invertebrate conservation, such as those of the European Communities. The Bern Convention counts at present 22 Contracting Parties, including the EEC. Ten of these Contracting Parties are states which do not belong to the European Community. Other states, such as Burkina Faso, Morocco, Poland, the Soviet Union and Tunisia have been invited to adhere to the Convention and they are likely to do so in the near future.
