L'ESCOLLERA

I've never had a bad meal here. It feels like a good mix of people, locals and tourists and since it's open all year people who live on the island tend to come. The atmosphere is fun for all ages. There's always something for everyone and the portions are enormous, so don't get greedy with too many starters. I've had beautiful wagyu carpaccio, fabulous rabbit paella and even the kids spag bol tasted amazing to me! The staff are very well trained, but it is heaving on weekends, so you need to email to book. They will persuade you to all order paella if they are busy. Be strong, this only makes it easier on their kitchen. If you take kids they can go on the beach when they get bored, usually between finishing their meal and ice cream arriving!

Playa Es Cavallet, 07817 Sant Jordi de ses Salines T. +34 971 39 65 72 Useful: There's valet parking at the front, so don't worry if someone in a stripy top tries to take your car keys! It look over the ocean and there;s places in the sun and shade.

IBIZA FOOD STUDIO: TALLER DE TAPAS

A small hidden gem in the back streets of Ibiza's old town. It has the feeling of a secret supper club and the food is prepared with skill by an ex bulli chef. Wines are low intervention. Some of the best cooking on the Island in a slightly quirky hipster setting. A nice change from the pretentiousness of some of the eateries.

PASSION

Good for brunch or lunch. Lots of healthy options, including gluten free and vegan, as well as a big smoothie and juice menu. They do a mean avo on toast and the coffee is the best in ibiza. It is now a chain of five, the closest is in San Antonio harbour, but for a larger branch head to San Josep and perfect combined with a beach trip to the west beaches of Cala Moli, , Cala Carbo - all lovely. SUNSET ASHRAM Calle Pere Escanellas Nº 44, Carretera de Sant Josep, 07830 Also in Sant anthony opposite Club Nautica on the marina This is the coolest place to listen to chilled DJS and watch the sunset go into the water. The restaurant is a circular shape and built on a cliff seems to project out over the ocean. The roof is open and it feels as though you are on the planet Tatouin! It's a bit more dressy than usual and we usually leave the kids at home. But it's open all day so you can feed them here earlier and the beach below will keep them entertained while you watch the sunset. You can book a large booth big enough for 10 people and make sure you arrive around 6.30 to soak up the atmosphere. This is a lovely restaurant that serves paella and seafood. It feels like a bit of a magical find as it's small. EL BIGOTES (South) A little hidden gem with a rustic feel. Camino Cala Boix a Cala Mastella, 138T, 07850 Cala Mastella Tel +34 650 79 76 33 (West) SHOP There is a local produce market Es Mercat de Forada at Can Tuxedo, 5 mins away, every Saturday 10-4, or the Mercat Nou in Ibiza town Monday to Saturday 8-2. Eroski deliver to the house and their website is in English. You can find a well stocked Spa in San Rafel or Aprop in Santa Getrudis. Just outside San Antonio on the way to the beach is a big Mercadona or Aldi. My favourite is the Mercadona on the San Josep road, and the fish counter here is really good.

BEACH We are situated 10 minutes from a beautiful sandy beach called Cala Gracio. This beach is perfect for families as the waves gently lap the shore and there's loads of shaded forest at the back to escape the sun. The pebbly beaches of and the stunning jagged rocks of Punta Galera are also close by for coastal walks both with views out to the islands. The beaches of the south west Cala Conte and Cala Bassa are all lovely. Cala Moli is also beautiful as you cant see many buildings, but our favourite is Cala Carbo. You can hire sun beds and parasols on most beaches for €10 a pop and they even change the sheets and towels for you.

EXPLORE The fertile vineyards of Santa Agnes make for a wonderful drive. We used to do this when we had a baby sleeping. The village itself has a lovely playground, church and restaurant. Aquarium is a very bijou affair, over in 10 minutes, but we saw incredible baby sharks in their tanks and it is housed in a cave filled with magical stalactites. From here you can catch a boat into San Antonio and back. Bodegas Can Rich is worth a visit to buy some local wine. Horse Riding at Ibiza horse valley in San Juan the North of the Island or through Can Curreu, should not be missed, nor a trip to Dalt villa, the ramparts of Eivissa town. Swing by Cafe del Mar on San Antonio's seafront to soak up their famous Balearic beats and sundowners. It's more of a 20 something crowd, but does have the best music. A day trip to Formenterra is unforgettable, it takes 30 minute from Ibiza's port on the hourly transmapi ferry, which you can book there or online! Once there head for Ses Illetes and the lighthouse. Book lunch at Juan y Andrea.
