As work commences, Lazy decides that he will take a little nap until he comes face-to-face with Papa Smurf, who tells him to get back to work now like everyone else. Hefty from the gully of the river below the bridge asks Papa Smurf to hand him a shovel, which he does until he finds out it's been covered in goo. Greedy comes along to tell Papa Smurf that it's his shovel, and pulls it away from Papa Smurf's sticky hands. Smurfette calls Papa Smurf's attention of her picking out the color for painting the bridge, but Papa Smurf Smurfs #1: The Purple Smurfs too busy seeing Brainy not watching where he was swinging his ax to chop wood, and instead he ends up cutting the rope that held the bridge up, sending it crashing down into the gully. With Papa Smurf ready to explode, he walks off into the forest only to trip over Lazy, who found himself a nice place to sleep. Papa Smurf angrily tells Lazy to go into the forest and get lots of logs, "and move it", which Lazy quickly gets up and does. As Lazy begins to chop down a tree, he finds himself pestered by a purple fly who annoyingly circles around him, laughing.

Belgique francophone, terre de B.D. François Pierlot Frantseseko lektorea / Lector de francés Laburpena Komikien historia Suitzan hasi zen 1827an, Rodolphe Töpffer-ek “litera- tura iruditan” deiturikoa sortu zuenean. Printzipioa sinplea da: istorio bat kontatzen du marrazki bidez, eta istorioa azaltzeko testuak eransten ditu. Hogei urte geroago, Wilhelm Bush alemaniarrak Max und Moritz sortu zuen, marrazkietan dinamismo handia zuen umorezko komikia. Gero, batez ere egunkarietan agertzen hasi ziren komikiak. Eguneroko prentsak ere gero eta arrakasta handiagoa zuenez, komikiak Europa osora za- baldu ziren. Egunkarientzat oso garrantzitsua zen komiki onak izatea, irakur- le asko erakartzen zituztelako. Erresuma Batuan ere arrakasta izan zuten ko- mikiek. AEBtik, bestalde, koloretako argitalpenak iristen hasi ziren, testuen ordez bunbuiloak zituztenak. Belgikan, 1929an hasi ziren komikiak argitaratzen, Le petit vingtième haurrentzako egunkarian. Apaiz oso kontserbadore bat zen erredakzioburua, eta umeei komunisten alderako gorrotoa barneratzeko pertsonaia asmatzeko eskatu zion Hergé marrazkilari gazteari. Horrela sortu zen Tintin. Lehenengo aleak Tintin sobieten herrialdean zuen izenburua. Hergék bere pertsonaiaren «gobernua» hartu baino lehen, ideologiaz beteriko beste bi abentura ere izan ziren (Tintin Kongon eta Tintin Amerikan). Tintinekin hasitako goraldiaren ondoren, beste marrazki-aldizkari bel- gikar batzuk sortu ziren; besteak beste, Bravo! agerkaria. Komiki belgikarrak 1940ko hamarkadatik aurrera nagusitu ziren mundu frantsestunean, bi agerkari zirela bitarte: Le Journal Tintin eta Le Journal de Spirou, hurrenez hurren, Hergé eta Franquin marrazkilari zirela. Bi astekariek talentu gazteak hartu zituzten, aukera bat emateko. Komikien ibilbidea finka- tu zuten, klasizismo mota bat ezarrita. Journal de Spirou izenekoa 1938an sortu zuen Dupuis argitaletxeak, eta umorea landu zuen. Pertsonaiek oso jatorrak dirudite, grafismo biribilari esker (horregatik aipatzen da “sudur lodiaren” estiloa).

  • Peyo Communiqué EN
Fondation Folon From 25th of March till 27th of August 2017 WORLD PREMIERE “The panels in a comic strip are like a little theatre where I have the chance to animate my characters” (Peyo) Quiz question: which are the most famous of all Franco-Belgian comic strip characters throughout the world? Tintin? Asterix? No, the Smurfs! Originally known as the Schtroumpfs and called the Puffi in Italy, the Kumafu in Japan and other names in different places, the Smurfs are internationally renowned thanks to the animated television series from the Hanna-Barbera studios in the eighties, and, more recently, with the feature films produced by Sony. Inevitably, this fame has rather overshadowed the Smurfs’ creator, Pierre Culliford, known as Peyo. Born in Brussels in 1928, in the fifties this son of a British exchange broker became a mainstay of the Journal de SPIROU and created his unforgettable medieval series “Johan and Peewit” in which the Smurfs were born in 1958. The success of the little blue sprites was immediate and the Smurfs soon eclipsed Johan and Peyo’s other creations, “Benny Breakiron”, the little boy with Herculean strength, and « Pussycat". Fondation Folon Overwhelmed with work, Peyo took on assistants and established a studio which continues to perpetuate his work today, almost 25 years after his death in 1992. Yvan Delporte, chief editor from the golden age of SPIROU, said of Peyo: “Of all the comic strip authors I’ve met, Peyo was without question the best storyteller”. Pierre Culliford had two models: Hergé and Walt Disney. From the former he learned the purity of design and narrative effectiveness.

The magic flute that appeared in the original comic book story of " The Smurfs And The Magic Flute " and the The Smurfs #2: The Smurfs and the Magic Flute film version was a musical instrument that had six holes in it. It made whoever listened to the person playing a tune from it dance uncontrollably; however, if the flute is played for too long, the person doing the dancing will eventually tire out until he or she just drops from exhaustion. The magic flute came from the Smurfswho in the comic book story "The Flute Smurfers" made it for a sorcerer named Alderic to cure somebody afflicted with a condition The Smurfs #2: The Smurfs and the Magic Flute as "Monotone Melancholy". The flute was believed to be lost as the sorcerer's house was burned down by an angry mob, but it eventually fell into the hands of a merchant selling various and strange musical instruments, who arrived in the kingdom that Sir Johan and Peewit had served The King in.

  • ROGNTUDJÛ!!! – Franquins Schusseliger Bürobote in Deutschland
