Create a YouTube Account and Upload to YouTube

1. Create an account on YouTube (Find out more at ://support.google.com/youtube/answer/161805?hl=en&ref_topic=3024170)

Create a Account to sign in to YouTube. With a , you can access many YouTube features, including Like, Subscribe, Watch Later, and Watch History. YouTube can also recommend videos based on what you've watched, liked, and subscribed to.

a. Go to .com. b. In the top right, click Sign in. tag">c. Click Create Account. If you have a account you can use to sign in. Or, click More options, then Create Account and follow the prompts.

To upload videos, comments, or create , you can create a channel on your account.

2. Create a new channel on YouTube (Find out more at https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/1646861)

With a Google Account (gmail), you can watch and like videos and subscribe to channels. However, without a YouTube channel, you have no public presence on YouTube. Even if you have a Google Account, you need to create a YouTube channel to upload videos, comment, or make playlists. You can use a or the YouTube mobile site to create a new channel.

Follow these instructions to create a personal channel that only you can manage using your Google Account.

a. Sign in to YouTube on a computer or using the mobile site. b. Try any action that requires a channel, such as uploading a , posting a comment, or creating a . c. If you don't yet have a channel, you'll see a prompt to create a channel. d. Check the details (with your Google Account name and photo) and confirm to create your new channel.

After creating your channel, you can upload videos.

Sign into your YouTube account. b. Click on Upload at the top of the page. c. Before you start uploading the video you can chose the video settings. d. Select the video you'd like to upload from your computer. You can also create a video slideshow or import a video from .

As the video is uploading you can edit both the information and the advanced settings of the video, and decide if you want to notify subscribers (if you uncheck this option no communication will be shared with your subscribers). Partners will also be able to adjust their Monetization settings.

e. Click Publish to finish uploading a public video to YouTube. If you set the video privacy setting to Private or Unlisted, just click Done to finish the upload or click Share to privately share your video.

If you haven’t clicked Publish, your video won’t be viewable by other people. You can always publish your video at a later time in your Video Manager.

Once the upload is completed we will send you an to notify you that your video is done uploading and processing.

By default, you can upload videos that are up to 15 minutes long, but you can upload longer videos by following the steps below to verify your account. If you have live streaming access, long uploads are enabled by default.

To upload longer videos, verify your account with the following steps:

a. On a computer, go to the upload page at youtube.com/upload. b. At the bottom of the page, click Increase your limit. You can also go directly to https://www.youtube.com/verify c. Follow the steps to verify your account. You can choose to receive a verification code through a text message on a mobile phone or an automated voice call. d. Once you've verified your account, you can upload videos that are longer than 15 minutes long.

Note: Make sure you’re using an up-to-date version of your browser so you can upload greater than 20GB. The maximum file size you can upload to YouTube is 128GB.
