FOREWORD In 2015 the Parish Council and a few volunteers carried out a survey, the results of which called for more social and leisure activities in the Parish. We have made a start by putting together this brochure of the many local activities. Please keep it for future reference. Then there is a big get together for the residents of Hodnet, Marchamley, Peplow and Wollerton, the Right Royal Party, on Saturday June 11th on Hodnet Recreation Ground. You will find a programme inside of what's happening at the event. On the day you can sign up for a club or group, or make some suggestions for what you would like in future. So bring out your flags, a hat or any other patriotic item you would like to wear, and join in the fun. The celebration of the Queens birthday is organised by, and for, residents from all parts of the parish. The day would not have been possible without the generosity of local businesses and benefactors in their gifts of time, finance and resources. We would particularly like to thank, Sir Algernon Heber-Percy, Randall Hardy, the Bear, Stephen Woodland, Hodnet Club, Steve Jones of Battlefield Farm Shop & Butchery, the Glass Machinery Company, Claire Brooks, Garth Allen, Wollerton Old Hall Gardens, Mulberry Bush Studios, the Parish Council, Character Jugs, Roy Topham, W.I, RAF, Hodnet Fire Service, Hodnet & District Garden Club, Rix Petroleum, Hodnet Junior Football Club,The Rocking Horse Shop, Geoff Crooke,The Scout Association, 1st Hodnet Brownies and 1st Hodnet Guides. –3– PROGRAMME 3:00pm Grand Opening Sir Algernon Heber-Percy 3:15pm Local Percussion Group (first set) 3:30pm Deadline for entries into cake competition and garden show * 3:30pm David Kiss - Rocking Horses Q & A 4:00pm Barbecue provided by Hodnet Club 4:15pm Local Percussion Group (second set) 5:00pm Local Musical Entertainers REGISTRATION OF ENTRIES BY 4 JUNE for - Art and photographic exhibition - contact Alice Turner 01630 685212 & 07585807759 Classic vehicles - contact [email protected] Musical entertainment - contact Dave Smither 01630 540970 [email protected] * Cake competition – Cakes will be judged on appearance 3 classes: male; female & under 16’s.
