St Goran Local Low Carbon Fund The Local Low Carbon Fund Panel exists to allocate grants from monies provided from Community Power Cornwall, who installed two 50kw wind turbines near Gorran Highlanes in August 2011. The Fund receives approximately £3000 a year (3% of the total income from electricity sold to the grid) to be spent on projects which reduce our carbon footprint. Eligible projects should (1) be located in the parish of St Goran or in the neighbouring parishes of St Ewe and St Michael Caerhays (2) help towards reducing the locality’s carbon footprint (3) benefit the local community (4) raise awareness of renewable energy, energy saving, carbon reduction and climate change. It is a condition of receiving a grant that the recipient should be willing to report back on the scheme’s progress (e.g., approximate annual energy saving following building insulation) and to respond to ongoing requests about the project (e.g., advising local groups considering similar schemes.) Grants will normally be paid against official invoices and receipts will be required.
