What are the least known depart- ments in your hospital? There are some departments that are least know but are very efficient. The emergency department at Al Emadi functions round the clock and we receive patients regularly. We have plans to add more services that we may lack in our emergency department in the near fu- ture. We have a full-time pediatrician as well. Bronchoscopy, sport medicine and physiotherapy services are outstand- ing at the hospital. We run about 3,500 physiotherapy sessions in a month, which shows the nature of the services we provide to our patients. I have per- sonally attempted physiotherapy and I was highly satisfied with the result.

What are the services that are spe- cial to Al Emadi Hospital? We are well known for obesity care and treatment, especially sleeve gastrecto- my. Dr Emadi started doing this since 1994 and until today we receive about four to five patients daily.

What is the reason behind the big success of Al Emadi Hospital? We always take the needs of the patients into consideration. We listen to what they need and we try to meet their ex- pectations. Our services are very satisfy- ing and advanced. Dr Emadi is also the reason for this success. His reputation has made all of this possible. Canadian accreditation has also helped us im- prove on a regular basis.

Do you provide customer services? Yes, we have our own customer service department. As I said before, we always consider the patient’s needs. Just like any other health institution, we are not always flawless. We are working on opening Al Emadi Medi- cal Cosmetic and Dermatologic Center. Our new clinic in Shamal will soon have all medical specialties. Undoubt- edly, Al-Emadi Hospital will continue to focus on diversifying its departments and healthcare services provided in the country and our growth and expansion plans will always be in line with the vi- sion of the country’s wise leadership. 08 Wednesday, September 25, 2019

HEART attack treatment from San Diego Ar esearchers has shown evidence of safety in a human study, along with early signs that it might be effective. The treatment from the company Ventrix is a liquid that turns into a gel when injected into the heart. It provides a scaffold for new cells to take hold and repair the heart. By encouraging growth of new muscle, the treatment, called VentriGel, is intended to reduce scar formation and increase cardiac muscle. Since scar tissue doesn’t contract, the burden of pump- ing is increased for the rest of the heart. Over time, the heart enlarges and begins to pump less effi- ciently, causing heart failure. The University of California, San Diego spinoff reported the results last week in Journal of the HowHow to preventprrereveevevveent American College of Cardiology: Basic to Trans- lational Science.
